Mount St Car Park

Absolute nonsense/ridiculous.The machines are truly not fit for purpose as stated by another reviewer - the print on the screens is so small plus the glare from sun in the winter makes reading the screen a huge effort having to stoop down to attempt to work out what to do.You then have to 'Check in and check out' (ridiculous) to get a correct price?????. Plus you have to enter the first 4 numbers of your car and all this (more complex than checking in for an airline flight) for £2 for 2 hours. Idiotic, crazy. Someone should pay the price and be booted out of office.Naturally I screwed up this sun dazzled, complex process and firstly paid £5 and then £2 on 'check out' - I suppose i should have not have used my debit card, cash would have been safer.Totally unfriendly towards occasional users/tourists, trying to put £ into the local economy.Rip these things out and put in something simple and easy to use. Get real.

Probably the best place to park if you're needing the Battle High Street.Remember this village is the Hub for people we used to call YUPPIE, in the '80s and '90s! Lovely place and people ( if you're one of them that is!)

Not well sign posted at all, went up and down the High Street twice before looking down a side Street and spotted the sign. Easy enough to find a space, a Tuesday 10am, but how confusing is the ticket machine! I have a Ringo account, but decided to use my debit card to no avail. A local lady came along and said she would talk me through " using cash!! Her advice was to press the green confirm button whenever your stuck as to what to do next. After all that I was desperate for a coffee ☕phew!"

One ticket machine at top end of car park marked u/s, machine adjacent to it not working either. Vehicle reg numbers have to be entered for fear that drivers might donate the remaining 10 minutes or so on their ticket to new arrivals. Parking spaces a bit on the small side but spaces for blue badge holders adequate and quite plentiful, standard charge applies ( £1/hour). Toilet facilities on site clean with good hand-washing facilities. A short walk through alleyway gets one to the High Street.

Parking is great! But Ringgo useless! Very often it doesn't work. Change Park App at once!

Ok we found it easy to get parked in the middle of the carpark for were we needed to be/go in the high street I always use that carpark if I need to go down the town /the dentist as its easier for me cause of my mobility

The car park is quite often full and the ticket machines can be a bit temperamental

Great little car park in a good spot in Battle. We could easily walk to all the sights we wanted to see from here.

This is probably the most confusing carpark ticket system I have ever used in the UK! You need to enter your car registration details and use your debit card to get a ticket, then need to do the same AGAIN when leaving to get a second ticket! The ticket instructions were poor and confusing for new visitors and I'm sure this is deliberate so people forget to check-out, resulting in the carpark obtaining the MAXIMUM fee and the visitor being ripped off! Good for locals but bad for new visitors. Handy to have a toilet on the site though!

Firstly I would like to say that the payment machines at this car park are not fit for purpose. I have watched numerous people (I include myself) struggle with the machines and they need changing to something which is more user friendly and works. If you pay by card it is important to remember that you have to go back to the machine and check out… I know this is correct because I discussed it with the que of people trying to use the machine.Secondly in a time that the high street is struggling and people are turning to online solutions wouldn’t it be good to have 2 hours free car parking for visitors to Battle. I understand why the owners of the car park do not want this but what about the shops and customers to the high street? One day the car park might be empty when the shops disappear!
