High Moor Farm Park
This was our first own touring caravan experience so just did the one night to practice manoeuvring, hooking up etc. We were so disappointed by the customer service at the reception and in the bar. This facility is not children friends at all or should I say the staff are not. The staff never used please or thank you once and was very rude to us and our children who were also not allowed to have any fun in the bar prior to 8pm. We will not be returning to this site which is disappointment as it was a perfect location for us being on the military camp 5 minutes away and hoping to use this facility regular whilst the husband is in Afghanistan. Shame as the swimming pool was good but that was about it!

Had an impromptu stay here for 1 night, first impressions vans packed in like sardines hardly any room in between. Site not well kept, kids running riot till all hours even congregating in the shower blocks. Staff extremely rude on leaving was told had they have known our van was a converted vehicle (transit no signage on it, also registered as a camper van) we wouldn't have been allowed to stay in the first place apparently due to to past complaints of other campers, now if this was of a high end site I would maybe accept this but no where on there website do they state no converted vans allowed nor did they ask what type of van we had on booking, they also watched us drive in and happily took our £30 fee, which for this kind of site was way over priced an there are far better places in Harrogate to stay without being left offended on your way out, manners go a long way, I know where not welcome back but we wouldn't stay again for the reasons mentioned.

This is a fabulous site have been going over 20 years children grown up now and taking their children. The site is clean the staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. The showers have been upgraded this year and their is no longer a charge for use of them. They have upgraded their kitchen and the meals are fabulous. We have never had a bad one in all the time we have been going to the site.Looking forward to seeing everyone again on August bank holiday weekend.

This park has so much potential but is lacking due to poor management, the fields are ridiculously waterlogged I had to throw away my awning carpets due to the amount of mud. I payed for a hard standing pitch what I got was a sort of hard pitch which is covered in grass so the water can't even soak into the ground as it's concrete under the grass (what use is that?) The results are a muddy mess. Also the bar/restaurant doesn't open till 6.30pm and closes at 9.30pm HELLO" To the owner of the site

Where do I start. If you have children do not go to this site ITS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. This site has every potential to be a great family caravan site pool, park, arcades but the owners do not like children, if your over 70 been going for years then you will fit right in. They do not allow children to stand at the bar whether wanting or drink or standing with parents nothing, kids have to give there seats up by 9pm if it's full, prams pushchairs arnt allowed in we saw a couple having to hold a baby for a few hours til they left, kids get wrong if they run or dance on the dance floor. We saw on the last night a family with well behaved children leave the clubhouse due to owners attitude and rudeness. The Easter weekend the weather was boiling the owner announced no filling up water balloons or paddling pools the reason we dont know. The sight is clean shower block and toilet could do with the 70s decor changes and was never any toilet rolls. We were there Easter weekend and there was no entertainment on at all, when asked the owner said they dont put on entertainment just bingo and they outdated repeated CD for the over 70s club no doubt sit in a regulars seat and there is some filthy looks.

Lovely site . Caters mainly for families with smaller children. Great park and swimming pool. Site does have a club house offering meals. Small shop only open a couple of hours a day. Amenities block is good, very clean.

A disappointing site. Arrived hopeful - website looked great & leaflet we were given on arrival seemed promising. However, rules rules rules. Told at the bar by an abrupt gentleman my son couldn’t stand by his dad, kids have to give their seats up in the bar after 9pm for adults, asked us to move our family van from our pitch due to fire regulations when in fact most of the caravans & awnings are nearly on top of their neighbours. Asked about fishing lake (which doesn’t look like it’s been fished in for years), told we couldn’t walk round it, dogs weren’t allowed & no one could spectate!!! Ate in the bar, food mediocre. The music was catered for the “older generation”. The shop not overly stocked, toilets need updating. Touring pitches very tight & not a lot of room to manoeuvre. In all, the site needs a complete overhaul, old statics need removing (parts of the site look like a junk yard). I wouldn’t recommend it for families I’m afraid and we weren’t made to feel very welcome.

We read many review that people were being picky. But all our family and friends said go see for yourselves. So we did and it was first class all the way. Clean site helpful friendly staff great amenities so we will be making regular visits here.

Disappointed with this site. This site has so much potential but seems to be getting run down. The pitch we were put on was occupied by someone else’s car when we arrived this was due to the pitches not being wide enough for a car and an awning.Rules rules rules everywhere. This would be manageable if the basic ones were policed. Kids riding bikes around caravans, footballs hitting caravans hover boards flying up and down the play field where little children were playing. The campsite tractor just drove around turning a blind eye to this. The toilet block and showers were clean at times but getting old. The showers sprayed directly onto the door meaning you had to either soak everything with the door open or stand in a freezing shower while the hot water came through! The taps for washing hands stayed on for a millisecond meaning single hand washing only possible. On their website it states on a bus route to Harrogate. This is not true, it’s not possible to get any busses. The pub selling food only opens from 7pm and is not open at all during the day apart for an hour or so on Sundays for a dinner. The top end of the park has got old statics with overgrown gaps between them that doesn’t look very nice at all. The shop is seriously basic and not open for long.On good notesLoads of space for kids to play with a basic playground. Huge football pitches although everyone played this around the caravans and didn’t use these. The pool was very clean and looked after. For a premium priced caravan park I found myself not getting a premium experience and felt well let down.

The caravans are quite close together but not intrusively so. The facilities are clean, pool is fine, showers etc are all clean and tidy. Plenty of water and bin points. We stayed a bank holiday weekend and it’s wasnt noisy on a night. It is a family site and kids are playing but weren’t causing any nuisance.Everyone we came across was pleasant.Bar area seemed large and clean but didn’t use it to be honest.Struggling to see what people are finding so bad to give a 1 star review. Maybe it’s the luck of the draw with timing
