Hands on Care Osteopathic Practice

I had suffered from intense upper back pain for over a week and contacted Hands on Care, obtaining an early appointment. After the consultation and treatment there was an immediate improvement. A second visit resulted in a complete recovery, with no further pain.I have tried several therapies for back pain over the years but Katherine has proved the best by far. Highly recommended.

Would thoroughly recommend Katherine. Was recommended her by my partner who had a positive experience with Katherine resolving his posturally related tension headaches. I had a grumbling minor niggle in my back related to postural imbalance. I found the booking process was so easy online, found an appointment time that suited me (evenings and Saturdays have been really helpful for myself and my partner), and she was covered by our private medical insurance. Clear and thorough instructions on the booking email - including to the car park which is a fab bonus being in the centre of Christchurch.During my initial appointment she took a thorough history and examination, and offered me an explanation of issues and how to resolve them. Managed to get a mix of treatments in the first session - some manipulation, deep tissue work and western acupuncture. She explained what she doing whilst performing each treatments.Throughout Katherine was friendly and professional.

I am in my seventies and suffer with osteo arthritis. It's a debilitating illness which although quite common, can be quite debilitating and painful. I was referred by a professional body to Hands on Care and to Katherine. They are fully trained osteopaths. Katherine is very patient, thorough and very knowledgeable. She goes to great lengths to diagnose and understand the pain I experience and finds ways to treat my condition. She gives me lots to do in between appointments but the great thing is that my condition definitely improves if I put in as much effort as Katherine does! The result is that my pain is more bearable and of course, my daily life is much more pleasant. I thoroughly recommend Hands on Care" and Katherine offers me a real life line."

Katherine is a great Osteopath and has helped me massively over the last couple of years with improving/resolving niggly muscle issues/minor injuries and significantly improving my overall mobility and posture. Katherine is very knowledgeable and friendly, takes the time to explain what she is doing during the treatment and provides stretches and exercises for me to do at home which have made a real positive difference.

Very pleased with our first appointment! Katherine is very knowledgeable and thorough in her assessment and hands on treatment. Very helpful advice given about self massage and exercises that can be done at home. The follow up email after our visit, with photos of exercises to continue at home, will benefit Lucy. Western acupuncture was discussed to be included in future treatment and we will book another appointment very soon so that the benefits received will continue to aid recovery, especially as intense ballet classes start up again after the summer break. Katherine has helped me greatly with both back and sciatica and leg pain plus neck and shoulder issues which were all work related recently. Her knowledge and skills are first class. She is the go to person if you have these sort of issues.

I went to see Katherine following a horrible year of ill health that had left me with lower back pain, pains in my left hip and leg and feeling out of kilter. Katherine quickly found my issues and now after just three sessions (including acupuncture) I am finally upright and more balanced plus I can sleep without pain and get up in the morning with very little stiffness. I can’t tell you what a difference it makes to my life - I no longer feel like I’m old before my time and I don’t have to take anti-inflammatory pain killers. I highly recommend Katherine, she is a miracle worker.

Michelle was excellent! She took time to listen and explored the issues I was having. She then took time to explain what was happening and suggest ways to relieve the symptoms. She didn’t even hurt too much!!

I found it very easy to book my first appointment on line at a time that suited me.I had a reoccurring problems with a knee. Having explained it to Katherine she began to treat it in a number of ways.So with her understanding and treatment and me doing all of the exercises given to me I felt after 4 sessions my knee had improved enormously.I would highly recommend Katherine and Hands on Care!
