Poppywood Alpacas
I took my friends as they really wanted to visit the alpacas. I’ve been before & loved it. We did the hour tour where you get to meet them all & do a short trek. The cafe is very good with homemade food & the coffee is great quality too. The sun was shining & we had gorgeous views. You can see for miles on a good day! Do take care on the drive up. 4 wheel vehicles are more suited as it is steep & cobbled. Just be aware of that before you visit. This is a family run business so do pay a visit.

An amazing time was had by all at Poppywood Alpacas for my daughters birthday party today. A really interesting, fun and very interactive walk and talk experience, followed by some proper" home cooked and child friendly grub afterwards. Pizzas and fruit salad were exceptional! Will be back and would definitely recommend. A true hidden gem"

Fantastic place. Our group were there only to take photos but I believe the walk are amazing. We could wander around the field of alpacas who were very placid then went to see the females and calves in the open barn - so cute. Tea shop is fabulous with genuine home baked scones, flapjacks etc the brownies are to die for and the gluten free brownies are incredible.

Bought my niece an alpaca walk for her birthday and it did not disappoint. Lovely relaxing morning out with the alpacas. Pippa the owner is really knowledgeable and experienced and the alpacas are clearly loved and well looked after. The kids are a credit to her and her husband Mark gave me friendly parking guidance when we arrived. We finished our walk with drinks after from the tea room which was lovely and reasonably priced. Highly recommend this lovely family run business for a day out.

Absolutely fantastic, great interaction with the Alpacas. Everyone gets their own Alpaca to take for a good walk. Guide very informative and knowledgeable. My kids thoroughly enjoyed age 8 and 12 the meet and greet experience. Well worth a visit.

Nice and enjoyable feeding the alpacas, but it was busy so they weren’t all really hungry. The road to the farm is very tight, do not go in a large car.

What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours, the staff were very knowledgeable and patient. Alpacas are lovely when you get to know them and they get to know you. The facilities were very good too, we didn't try the cafe but it looked lovely.. Thank you.

What a fantastic experience, I would give this 10 stars if I could but it only lets me do 5. The farm was extremely clean with welcoming informative staff. The café is extremely well priced with fantastic souvenirs. The prices for the experience was amazingly cheap for the memories you will walk away with. You can tell the Alpacas are well cared for and walking with the Alpacas is an experience I will cherish forever and a Zoo can't replicate this. Perfect for Adults as well as children and I can't praise Poppywood any more. Thank you for the experience and it was nice to meet not only the Alpacas but the owners.

My first time walking and petting Alpacas!! It was very thorough of an experience. We met and greeted the alpacas, walked the male around the field nearby and fed the female and cria alpacas in another pen. The guide, Pippa, was very informative about the knowledge she shared with us about everything alpacas. Highly recommend this site and the experience.

Fantastic experience for all the family. Very fun event with lots of cute alpacas and interesting info. Meet and feed the alpacas then take them on a walk through a nearby field whilst they try to nibble anything in their path as cheeky Max did with me. My daughter, myself and my wife all really enjoyed the hour spent with these lovely cheeky creatures.
