Planet Music Academy

My 11 year old daughter has been going to piano lessons at PMA for about 9 months. Her teacher is great and the lessons are age-appropriate. The fact that my daughter gets to chose a lot of the songs she learns, is really motivating for her. We love the friendly atmosphere and the staff’s can-do attitude.

We're very pleased with our experience at PMA. My son's learning drums and Phil is great with him - very encouraging, full of useful advice on techniques and approaches to getting better and making it easier. It's wonderful when he comes out of his lesson on a high because suddenly he can do something that he's been finding really difficult. The Rock School grades are very good too - the kind of music kids will *want* to play.PMA teach more than drums of course, and from what I've seen, the other staff and tutors are friendly and encouraging too.

My children have guitar lessons with Planet Music and both absolutely love it. Ben and Jack are fantastic tutors, keeping things fun and adapting lessons to suit the children’s needs and musical preferences. In addition to the weekly lessons there are opportunities to take part in workshops and events in school holidays, which have also been great. Also helps that they serve amazing coffee!

Planet is awesome, my eldest (teenager) has been a student here for the past 8 years so he’s almost grown up with the place. The team are always so helpful, understanding and the level of tuition is incredibly high…. but it’s not stuffy or rigid, it’s really relaxed yet there’s always focus on seeing the kids improve. So impressed I finally started lessons here myself too as an adult learner! Highly recommend it!I’d also give the coffee a whirl, definitely a flat white worth trying!!

Our children have been with planet music for over a year now and really look forward to their lessons. The teachers and staff are excellent, and they tailor the sessions and music choices to suit the children’s preferences which makes them eager to learn and practice. They give them lots of opportunities to be in bands, perform on the stage and be budding rock stars! We highly recommend Planet Music.

My daughter loves her lessons at planet music. She has been having guitar lessons with Jack for around 3 years and is becoming a very confident guitarist. Jack is an amazing tutor, kind and patient and has given my daughter a huge amount of confidence in playing the guitar. Thank you!

My son has been learning guitar with Jack (who is amazing) for a number of years, he has progressed so much, learning the music that he enjoys to listen to, rather than always just learning set music from books. The lessons are always tailored to my son’s musical interests and ability. The Planet Music team are great, always so welcoming and the environment is encouraging and fun. For parents, the waiting room is comfortable and Edie’s coffees are fab. Wholeheartedly recommend!

We have been at planet music for almost a year now, and it’s been an amazing experience! The owner is very kind and wants the best for all students. My child’s teacher is really passionate about all her students and is an expert in her instrument! I love all the extras like the annual park day where all performance get to showcase their skills. It’s a one stop shop for learning everything music and I look forward to many more partnerships with the studio.

My child has attended Planet for a number of years, having guitar lessons with Jack. Jack is the kindest of teachers, he’s really encouraging and we see good progress - despite my child’s lack of practise! I like the set up of the studio, the clear glass door where I can view my child’s lesson is reassuring for any parent new to music lessons, especially with young children, and the overall surroundings are comfortable - there is even a coffee shop! This is quite a unique professional setting and something a little fresher and edgy compared to the music lessons you can get elsewhere. The kids can play/learn popular music, which in my opinion helps to keep them engaged. Would recommend.
