Cambridge Ice Arena

Pretty cool new facility. CIA offers all the things you'd expect to see at an ice facility - rental skates, cafe, spectator area etc. There is also plenty of free parking available (use the park and ride entrance).The rental skates are okay - fairly dull edges but fine for most beginners who won't notice the difference - maybe I just had a dull pair.There is usually a marshall on the ice during sessions to help people up if they fall etc. which is great if you're new. They don't, however, seem to be particularly vigilant at enforcing the rules and I'm not really convinced anyone reads them anyway - quite frequently you will come to a stop as you're blocked by a wall of 10 people holding hands or a standstill group posing for a photo in the middle of the ice. Just use common sense and be prepared to stop at short notice - it's not a huge deal and most centres seem have this same issue.Overall, its a nice facility and a good addition to things to do in Cambridge.

Lost the will to live when trying to book on the app, on a browser and then when trying to call and getting cut off abruptly before making it to a human. Tried to book and pay several times.

Great facility, and much needed by Cambridge. The rink has really nice ice. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of space around the ice, and good seating for those watching. The cafe serves hot food, and provides a warm environment for parents etc to watch. Food prices aren't the cheapest, but seem fairly reasonable.

Amazing place to spend the time. Staff are always smiling and very very polite also full of happy smiling people, what I personally really like it and is also very important. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes skating and meet new awesome people.

Modern, fun and a fantastic place to go as a couple or together with families. Nice seating and cafe for those on the peripheries as mere spectators.The ice arena is a good size, for those with children, they provide apparatus as adaptive aids, however the children need to be under a meter.There are Marshall’s or wardens on the ice arena who are there to help in case a need arises. The sessions are for a good time period and we were there for almost 45 mins which was more then enough time to have a great time.Finally, value for money!

Sessions on the ice go on for an hour, so if your an infrequent skater, it will feel like almost too much time! Since it's an indoor ice-rink, it gets very chilly so wrap up warm, even if it's summer. The ice is very spacious. I would recommend not going into the last session as the ice is very scratched up by then. The booking doesn't include skate rentals (+£2.50) you can use card. Also bring an extra £1 for lockers. Other than the lockers, you can be cashless.

I booked to go here in September for my daughter’s birthday. Cambridge ice arena cancelled my booking without explanation and without refunding me. I am still awaiting to be refunded £69 and we didn’t even get to go ice skating there. I would not recommend.

Fairly new and well designed rink. Comfortable and has nice viewing area and snack shop w friendly staff. No heaters yet in view area so bring a jacket or coat.

A fun way to spend a few hours doing something a little bit different. Being a new facility the ice skates available for hire were in excellent condition. Booking was very easy but it's a shame that you have to bring print outs of your booking with you since nowadays, a lot of people sent have printers at home. Nice to see that they are cashless as it's forward thinking. Lockers are available for £1 deposit which is essential; sooner they make them cashless, the better. Overall a brilliant facility I would recommend to friends and family.

First time skating for my wife and kids, second time for me. I'm still no good at it but they were great. The ice rink is chilly (as you might expect!) but it was a really good morning out!
