I was a customer of Martins for many years. I bought a number of new Mercury Optimax engines from him which he also fitted to my new Humber Ribs. Any of his work I could never fault and his advice was always open and helpful even if you were not purchasing at the time. As the operator of a powerboat school and dive charter having Martin on my side was invaluable. I also bought a couple of second hand engines from him and always warrantied them even if only a short one. I always brought my engines back to him once a year for service. What was great here was Martin always worked with me to bring the boats up to him and service the same day so I wouldn't have to come back another day as I had to travel 80 miles to him. Unfortunately I haven't had a rib now for the last number of years so haven't had a need to call on him. I do still have two small mercury engines which if they need anything they will only go to Martin.If anyone ever asks me about Mercury engine servicing I always mention Martin. Good person. Martin is very knowledgeable and we felt safe leaving our boat in his hands, we left the boat thinking it would take a while but he was definitely quick and works hard to get a solution if you need it. He was also good at communicating with us on the phone and is happy to answer questions where he can.
