Has been my go-to hotel for years whenever I come home to Cardiff and have always been happy with it, but this is the first time I've had time to use the pool and spa, and the changing rooms were like stepping into a different building: broken/rusted lockers, broken ceiling tiles and broken locks on the shower doors, used plaster left on the bench, steam room with no steam, surly receptionist.It's a shame because the spa/pool was always a big factor for me in choosing this Hilton compared to other local hotels, I just never had the time to use it until this week.That being said everything else about the hotel is great, so if you don't plan to use the pool/gym it's 5 stars.

A good Hilton.Good location right near the castle.Breakfast was ok, not as good as some Hiltons, but better than others.The swimming facilities were a good size and really nice aesthetics. I love the waterfall on the edge of the pool.I did not try the restaurant, the prices seemed a little high.One thing is the smell from the restaurant, it makes the whole ground floor smell like fish, which is very off putting.I did have an issue with the shower not being hot, but that was fixed, not great service at the front desk, as I had to call and speak to someone in person to raise the issues, poor communication, but they did fix it.

I love their new executive lounge, it’s beautiful, but the view from the previous lounge was better.The rooms are great, stayed there a few times, and the rooms are better these days.Big negative is the sheer state of the pool area. It’s so dirty. The locker rooms are an absolute disgrace.Garbage inside the steam room.Things don’t work.It’s not well maintained at all, and I overheard a regular user complaining and saying he would cancel his membership. Not a good look Cardiff Hilton. Sort it out.Breakfast was cracking, but there was some attitude off one of the staff when I checked in. A little arrogant.Anyway I look forward to next time co despite the negatives, it’s still a great hotel with a perfect location.

A great visit, staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Room roomy, comfy and great view of the castle and lights. Breakfast was amazing and staff were very attentative. Not far to walk to bus stops and shops.

Lovely hotel and close to Cardiff town for shopping. We stayed here to see a show at the arena and was a 10/15 minute walk away.The staff were really friendly, the room was lovely, big and clean with robes and slippers. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from.The overnight parking, which is around the corner from the hotel was £29 per night, ouch!! If you have time spare, then train station car park is only £12.50 for 24hrs so a fraction of the price.

Great location and very clean hotel.Service and reception staff need training in customer serviceRoom was cold as heating did not work. The hotel quickly provided a heater to resolve this at the time

We spent a couple of days in Cardiff (2 adults/ 2 kids). We were fortunate to get an upgrade which was lovely!Overall, the staff were very professional and kind. Although there was one male staff member (maybe French?), that I felt was very rude to me on two occasions.Breakfast was okay, although it would have been nice to have a vegetarian sausage/ meat free options.Unfortunately, we got no sleep! The nightclubs around us spilled out its partygoers and there was no rest from 12-4am. We had to listen to an argument for 3 hours! Considering we were on the top floor, we heard every word. No police came to sort it out, so we had to endure it. Although that’s not the hotels fault, it did put a dampener on us the next day as we were all so tired.

The rooms are a good size with access to either a bath a shower or in our case both. We based ourselves here for a few days for our wedding. The rooms are laid out well and have plenty of room for my wheelchair too. We didn't go for a special suite or a honeymoon room, just normal rooms for ourselves and our very very small wedding party.The beds were lovely and comfy and the staff wonderful.

We had the most fabulous time staying here... Great rooms, lovely breakfast and good service. Was very relaxing, couldn't hear anyone in rooms around us. Pool and areas is a little tatty but didn't affect our enjoyment, sauna and jacuzzi were nice addition to the health club. Location is absolutely perfect for central Cardiff. We walked everywhere all weekend, it's perfect. It's a 15.min walk from Cardiff central train station which we did on arrival and when we were leaving, this was fine even with bags and cases. Would recommend for a weekend stay in Cardiff.
