A great quirky local museum, really interesting and perfect for a rainy day. Plenty of local and social history to see. Staffed by volunteers who are also a wealth of additional knowledge. Nice tea rooms for a snack.

We didn't pay the £3.50 to go round the museum, but we did have tea and cake in the small café.

Very interesting history of the area going back to first human habitation, coming through the ages: Elizabethan, both world wars, the 1953 sever flood and local ferry/transport episodes.Plenty of archive detail exhibited in many different forms: text archives, visual exhibits, modern electronic click and read, etc.Topped off with a smart cafe area at the end of the presentations.

As soon as me my husband & our 2 children got there, we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies. We were advised of the gonks to look out for and note down, and a question sheet to fill out. Our 7 year old enjoyed doing this.Amazing to learn about things that happened in your home town!Once we'd finished we went into the tea room, very reasonably priced, and there is something for everyone. Then we went into the gift shop, and my children couldnt decide what they wanted! Came away with 2 happy children.Amazing for a low priced, calm day out.3.50 entry fee for adults, children go free, but free entry to use their tea room.Really is worth the visit!

But disappointing - displays in a random order, not much on hi-de-hi apart from photos of the stars and a couple of jackets… best buy was looking at the old postcards and trying to read them! The museum seemed to be lacking energy and love.

Great museum, with loads of local history, lots of local free parking and the museum has a great section on the old Warner holiday park which was used to film Hi Di Hi. Entrance was £3:50 and it's a not for profit museum and the cafe attached was excellent, so even you you don't fancy the museum pop in and visit the cafe you won't be disappointed with either.
