Ironbarque

The Hebrides Expedition on Ironbarque was an amazing two weeks exploring the Highlands by sea. It was a magical combination of a wonderful people, great food, and a beautiful boat that I will always have a fond affection for – the Ironbarque – she becomes your home during this adventure and magically connects you to the places you visit and others who adventure on her. Thank you Oleg for sharing her with us on this amazing voyage.

Skipper Oleg Margina and the crew offered us an exciting crossing from Costa Rica to Galapagos. During the 130 hours we all had the chance to improve our sailing and navigation skills on #Ironbarque (Irishka). Safety & strength are traits that both -- boat and skipper have.

Multumesc @Oleg Margina si #Ironbarque pentru o experienta extraordinara ce mi-a depasit cu mult asteptarile initiale. Am urcat pe Ironbarque cu scopul de a acumula mile, dar expeditia Cascais – Dublin a fost mai mult decat un exercitiu de navigatie in tidal waters, aducandu-mi aminte de ce m-am indragostit de mare.7 oameni timp de 12 zile si-au testat si confirmat abilitatile trecand impreuna, ca un echipaj unit si functional, prin zile de furtuna, zile de calm fara urma de vant, zile in imprevizibilul Golf Biscaya, zile in ciclonul islandic, curenti puternici si vant schimbator in Irish Sea si Celtic Sea.Carturile nocture mi-au oferit posibilitatea de a exersa navigatia celesta, iar vantul de peste 40 de noduri ne-a testat cunostintele in tehnicile de furtuna si in adaptarea traseului in functie de conditiile meteo.Cu siguranta, o expeditie cu Ironbargue este o experienta pe care nu o uiti si care iti imbogateste sufletul si dragostea de mare. M-am simtit in siguranta in fiecare moment pe aceasta barca minunata si m-am bucurat de fiecare moment petrecut alaturi de restul echipajului: Oleg Margina, Nicoleta Toma, Radu Sova, Armand Veleanovici, Mihai Nasta si Julian Dumitru.Fair winds, my friends!

I had a wonderful experience sailing around the Hebrides aboard the Ironbarque. There have been two pleasant weeks spent around very nice people, visiting beautiful places and, last but not least, enjoying the thrills of sailing.Captain Oleg is an absolutely faultless skipper. His vast experience and high degree of professionalism gave me an utter feeling of safety, thus making every moment at sea rejoiceful and memorable.The boat itself is incredibly well built, sturdy, safe and comfortable. As captain Oleg patiently explained, the Ironbarque is capable of effortlessly handling all kind of sailing conditions. Sailing aboard it felt like being carried by an omnipotent vessel.The company onboard was very pleasant, the food was great and the trip itself was a total success! I highly recommend booking a trip with the Ironbarque, it is a truly unforgettable experience!

I got to be part of the Ironbarque tour of the Hebrides, Scotland, as a 15 year old. I can barely put in to words how much this trip brought me. Each day we got to see the varieties of nature’s beauty; on water and land. I experienced the joys of Scotlands culture through the words and stories of inhabitants, each and every one interesting. Not only could I connect to the people onland, but very much to those onboard! I think I will always have a smile on my face thinking about the wonderful times spent with the crew, who I can now call my dear friends. Seeing our beloved captain Oleg at work was very inspiring and interesting. He was the anchor at see for us, our guide through this adventure. The Ironbarque was such a safe space for me to discover the delight that is sailing, even learning many tips and tricks myself. This was a one in a lifetime trip, but I’m sure the next one on the Ironbarque will be too. ☺️ Thank you for this amazing expedition! I will see you soon for another adventure!
