Stoke Golding Airfield

Annual Mid August open day sees the arrival of numerous aviators from all over the country. Craft stalls, vintage cars, bar, cafe and food stall add to the browsing merriment. The acrobatic displays are good viewing. Parking is well orchestrated by a local air corp and admission price is very reasonable, complete with assisted traffic controlled exit.

I attended the open day on the 15/16 August this year, for the first time, and was very pleasantly surprised. I am in my 70's and the atmosphere at this event was akind to my memories of a time in my youth. To be able to see the variety of small aircraft, close up, on the ground and in the air and enjoy the other attractions of the excellent band coupled with the old cars and motorbikes was a unique experience that I hope to repeat next year and the year after that..........as long as I am able, it was that good.Very well done to all concerned with this event, and keep up the good work.
