Evening All, I just wanted to post and say a big thank you to the lovely owner of the Garden Restaurant for making us feel so welcome and the exceptional service (authentic Chinese cuisine ). It is the second time I have been to the Garden Restaurant.The restaurant is under new ownership and the owner is worried about business going slow over the past couple of weeks, I will definitely be going back to support the business.The food was excellent quality and choices, great portions at very good prices considering many places have increased costs and have restricted times you can have in a sitting. I would highly recommend trying the Garden Restaurant. It was was perfect, no rush, good service, lovely owner and delightful food. If you are planning an evening out for Christmas or New Year celebration without being rushed this is a great place, even though it is a little out of the way from the city restaurants, it was worthwhile.Compared to last year the restaurant was pretty empty except for a lot of Just Eat and Deliveroo orders l. This was veshame for a small business and she told us how worried she is getting as business has dropped in the last few weeks as she isn't in town, she had sold up in London and now owns the Garden Restaurant. If you enjoy a good Chinese meal this is the place and value for money.I missed my birthday meal on Saturday due to sickness and we cancelled she told me she makes cakes for a birthday/ anniversaries as a treat, as we have another birthday celebration we will definitely be going back on Saturday.It's a little way from town but if you want a nice evening with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere I would definitely recommend supporting this local business.

Service: 4 out of 5. They were great, quite fast when serving, but not as attentive after food have been served. We order a fair amount and dishes were not taken away once finished. But it is partly our fault for ordering way too much!Food: outstanding 5 out of 5. I have been to a fair amount of Chinese restaurant, from Chinatown to all the little part of London, and many others in smaller towns. But this is as authentic as you can ask for. Some dishes are ultra spicy so beware.Atmosphere: you can probably book a garden booth, I haven't try but pretty sure you can ask for that if you want some cold air. As for inside, it was nice and airy, have a nice and chillax vibe to it.Price: for the location, presentation, variety and quality of food, it would be considered a fair price.I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu!

A great night out with great food, great portion size, great taste. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. I really enjoyed the Chinese barbeque dish. Highly recommend to Chinese food lovers. We enjoy the night so much my friend even booked a table for their Christmas dinner, too.

Dined first time at this restaurant and it was an overall positive experience. Food was all freshly prepared, authentic and prices are very reasonable. Service was good and food served quickly. There’s outdoor unique dinning rooms, a small garden and parking available at the back of the restaurant.

Loved it here. Great choice and variety they are very different from mainstream Chinese take aways or resturants, more authentic. Great prices, portions, and fresh. Lovely staff.

We ordered 3 meals and they tasted sooo good. The restaurant's indoor part looks like a standard chinese restaurant, and the outdoor part is really nice. They have koi fish pond. During this pandemic time, it will be good if we can enjoy good meals outdoor (of course as long as supported by the weather). I definitely will come back again..

The authentic Kung Pao chicken should boast a delightful lychee-like flavor profile, offering a pleasant blend of tanginess followed by a touch of sweetness, all complemented by the robust heat from the peppercorns and chili. Among the various options I've tried in Southampton, Garden Restaurant's rendition of Kung Pao chicken stands out as the closest to its origins. This unique flavor combination is also nicely applied, with a some variation, to their Yuxiang rousi (shredded pork in a sweet and sour sauce). A bit more kick of vinegar would have been better, but overall it’s a satisfactory rendition.

Delicious food cooked fresh and served with warmth and good vibes. Staff are welcoming and friendly they explained the menu and contents to help us choose our order. They have Cantonese style food and also authentic dishes from hunan which are spicy dishes. I tried stir fry beef with hot peppers. They really really good. I very highly recommend this place. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Will definitely come back!

The most amazing food ever! The food was delicious, so fresh and the meats so tender. You could not wish for a more warm welcome or better atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. This place is second to none. The best Chinese restaurant in the Southampton by far!
