Oakwood Library

Wonderful little Library with fantastic helpful staff. It also stocks a wonderful array of books, talking books, free WiFi and 8 public desktop PCs.

Nice friendly staff and a nice place to borrow books from.

I love this library. I used to come here as a child and have started to use it regularly again. It's nice and peaceful with a big bay window and a garden. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I enjoy using it.

Very disappointed in this library!Visited this library with 4 nursery children all under2 years of age as a learning outing for them.2 of them children needed urgent nappy changes and when I asked the staff at the front desk if we can use there staff toilets(as there wasn’t any open to the public). They replied “No,sorry”. This really ruined the library experience for our children as we had to leave early as there was no facilities we could use to get the children clean. No consideration to younge children at all!

This library is a nice local sort,and is basic.Its not very big but you have a good selection of books to choose from.

First time I’ve used the library as my printer at home malfunctioned and needed documents printed.Firstly the computers in the library were nearly 20 years old! Took ages to load so the whole process of logging into an email took almost 30 mins, it felt like I was back in the ages of dial up..Secondly the staff members were extremely rude! There was an Asian woman of Chinese or Japanese descent who completely lost it with some delivery driver, shouting at him for whatever reason, and gave my 2 year old son the occasional mean look whenever he was loud...Library workers should be helpful, courteous, friendly with smiles on their faces, but the 2 who were working on the 5th of December were anything but that. Would never visit this place again..

It was good and the person that attended to me was great

Previously, the computers were slow as nearly all of them were a decade old. Sometimes they take up to 30 minutes to get straight to the desktop and have your work loaded up. One of the computers had a hard drive failure at that time.Luckily, during COVID-19, the computers were replaced by newer desktops and they run Windows 10. These desktops are slightly faster than the old ones and they hardly ever hang like the old ones.
