Springfield Touring Park

This site is ideally located for visiting the Dorset coast, the New Forest, Brownsea Island and the delightful market towns of Dorchester and Wimborne.Pitches are well kept and spacious. It appeared that the visitors were mainly those with large static caravans which would have their own toilet facilities. We were relying on using campsite facilities which were unsatisfactory especially in the event of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Regulations had been implemented and so facilities were reduced by 50% which meant for females only two toilets and two showers were available. We saw no evidence of these being cleaned at all during the week. Bottles of sanitising liquid, two clothes and hand wash were there but it was a ‘do it yourself cleaning’ job. The floors were not swept and there was a bucket and mop of dirty water available for cleaning. In the present climate of COVID surely thorough cleaning should have been done at least twice a day..We paid almost £200 for site and these very shabby and unclean facilities. Disappointing.

Been going to this family run touring park for years. Very friendly, clean, dog & children friendly & safe. Reasonable price. Great location. Fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Feels like you are in the middle of a forest and still have easy access to nearby towns and the beach. Peaceful and well maintained pitches have singing birds in the background. Each pitch has a back shelter of trees and green grassy area. John and Sheila are very friendly and helpful hosts. The restrooms and showers are kept very clean. Also has separate dishwashing, laundry, and waste disosal facilities. The enclosed play area for children is next to the restrooms and away from most of the pitches. Kids can play safely and happily without disturbing others. Had such a relaxing time enjoying the caravan park. The nearby area has so much to see and do. Great holiday location.

We went to this touring park in October Half Term with my 2 small children and a new caravan. This was the ONLY site locally that would let my Mum come and help me and visit- considering the site owner had some personal problems, they were welcoming, great with the children and understanding of my needing some help. The pitches were all gravel which was perfect, considering the weather that week. The toilets and facilities were good enough with nice hot showers. We were close to loads of great places- we went to the beach, and monkey world. The children loved the play park! There are many other older folk on site with permanent pitches- however , they were al friendly and even commented on how chatty and polite my children were. I was also impressed that the site is very safe as the children can not get out as it is enclosed, and there are 2 gates- with a height restriction which makes you happy that your set up will be safe. Wonderful stay- thank you!

This caravan site is a lovely place to stayToilets and shower area are cleanThere is a little park for kids to enjoy them self.The pitches are the nice size.The 2 people the run in are lovely and great to have a chat with.Also lovely places to visit that's not to far away.

Stayed here for a short stay. Elderly owners are lovely. Cash only - they don't accept any card payments. The site is very close to the A31 main road so although the site has a rural feel - expect road noise. Toilets, and general facilities are very dated and shop opening hours are sparse. No bread, milk or eggs etc as poor demand cited. The best description of the facilities are grubby" . Children's play area is not great and again poorly maintained with empty buckets of creosote hanging about but i guess they don't have too many young families staying - more elderly season pitch holders. As another review stated - it really needs a thorough clean throughout including toilets / showers / chemical waste area. It really is quite grubby and run down but in fairness - it's very cheap. If you just need somewhere to literally pitch and sleep - it's ok but there are plenty of very good sites within a few miles that are not much more expensive. Merley Court etc"

A real gem in an tranquil setting. From start to finish John and Sheila welcome you and made you feel part of their family. Pitches immaculate and service points very close. Hot showers and amenities excellent. Great value for money and very friendly. Farm shop next door and pub within walking distance. Wimborne Town a few minutes drive. Highly recommended will stay again. Thank you for our lovely stay!!

Just had a weekend away here. A totally beautiful camp site, so peaceful and set just off the A31 in Wimborne. Thought it was going to be noisy being by the A31 but it wasn’t. Owners are amazing couldn’t ask for anything better really. Definitely be back

A lovely setting however the site is very unkempt and while we stayed there the showers/toilets were never cleaned. There was a few spray bottles to clean the sinks after use yourself and a bucket with filthy water and mop to clean the showers. Overgrown weeds along the way to the shower block and laundry. Such a shame as I'm sure this site could be a little gem.
