Jackie was highly recommended by my eldest son's piano teacher when I wanted my 7 and 10 year old to start learning the instrument. I am very cautious when choosing a piano teacher as I've had bad experience as a child with mine but I am so glad we found her.She has been such a supportive teacher throughout the years especially during the Covid lockdowns in offering Zoom lessons which has helped the boys in those difficult years.Jackie and the other Under the Bridge teachers offered all the solutions for ABRMS exams, so they had dedicated teachers for Theory, Aural, Jazz pieces which did wonder in getting them through the grades that both my boys went from Prep test to passing Grade 7 in less than 4 years! (even before my 17 year old who started earlier and done longer more hours)It also helps that they get to play on the piano used during the ABRSM practical exams so they feel less nervous and Jackie always make sure she sees them before and after.I am truly grateful for Jackie as her experience, professionalism and passion for music continued to help my boys' journey that she (and I) plan to take it to diploma and beyond. We love her extra effort from double teaching whilst the boys learn with her 1-1, Music Masterclasses and special charity and festive events which is something only she can organise for the community on top of teaching 12 hours a day! It gives my boys so much confidence that they can perform music they enjoy in front of large groups. Many of our friends and families are bringing their children here and everyone is enjoying their journey so far, so I hope our positive experience and feedback will help more find a good place to learn and love in music.

We first came across Under the bridge Studio about ten years ago for the fab baby and toddler classes, which were such fun and so warm and welcoming. I was really happy when a couple of years later we returned and my son started piano lessons with Jackie. I feel so lucky to have her as our teacher, not only has she got a big heart, her passion and knowledge has overseen my son get through sitting his grade 1 piano exam to now preparing to for his grade 6 this summer. And the concerts that Jackie and her team put on which let all the kids have a chance to show off their musical skills are just brilliant. It is so good to have somewhere that has a real community spirit and makes you feel part of it!

Under the bridge is an amazing place of music and community. My son started with the fabulous baby classes and is now practicing for his grade 5 piano (with a few years in between!). Jackie is an amazing teacher but what makes under the bridge truly special is the exposure to such a wide range of talented individuals, who teach and rehearse there, alongside the opportunity for children to perform in a safe and encouraging space.

It’s not a palace- it’s a studio under a railway bridge, and it is great for exactly that. Does exactly what one needs from a studio in a friendly and inexpensive environment. Frequented by good bands and run by decent people- Jackie and Sam are both lovely.

I have been taking my two children here since they were newborns to the baby music classes. Not only did they love it, it was my favourite baby class and such a joy to see their love of music develop. Jackie is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. Aside from being amazing with kids she is possibly the kindest person ever! She is so selfless, does so much for the community, bringing people together through music. We always feel welcome when we come here and it really feels like one big family at Under the Bridge. Jackie is now teaching my daughter piano and she loves it! She’s so patient and makes it fun. We always look forward to the regular concerts where all the children get to perform. I don’t know how Jackie does it but she always managed to pull out all the stops and make it a really inclusive place to be. Thank you Jackie, you deserve a medal! We love you xx

Both my children come for music lessons here. They have learnt so much under careful, caring tutelage. Jackie's concerts are lovely celebrations of the young musicians' progress. Plus the grub is good! It's great to turn up and hear all the different music going in the various practice rooms. It has a fab community feel. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I have known Jackie and her family for many years and the dedication and enthusiasm towards music and in particular the progress of youth within the musical world is unrivalled. I use one of the rehearsal rooms with my band on a regular basis and cannot fault the set up, and also the great value. Support local independent businesses folks, and this is well worthy of all the support it gets.

Under the Bridge is a wonderful music learning centre and practice space with a strong focus on families and the local community. Jackie who runs it is an incredible piano teacher and music mentor for kids of all ages (and adults!). Her enthusiasm is contagious and she has taught our three boys with a great deal of care, lots of fun and spectacular results (my oldest went from zero to grade 8 in six years, and so did I doing lessons alongside him). The studio community she’s built is full of teachers - who cover virtually all instruments and styles - and helpers who are fully committed to the pupils and all the music that gets made here. It's a uniquely warm, supportive environment for learning and rehearsing and it would be impossible to recommend it enough.

I've been learning piano here as an adult. It's a really special place. There's always something going on. Caters for all musical genres. I've met so many passionate, talented and unpretentious people of all ages. Jackie is a legend. Proper musical community that I'm glad to be a part of.
