Rainbow Glass Studios

The enameling course I recently attended at Rainbow Glass Studios was highly enjoyable. Eleanor is an excellent teacher - clear, knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. She has a wealth of tips and tricks which she most generously imparts. She also supplied silver findings and chains to turn the many enameled items we produced into finished jewellery pieces. In addition she emailed a really useful list of relevant suppliers to enable us to continue with this new-found skill. All in all, it was a great day and I would wholeheartedly recommend the course to anyone who wants to explore the wonderful art of enameling.

I did a Glass Fusion for Beginners course with Eleanor here and had the most wonderful time! She was really patient and knowledgable, we got through so much in just a day.The glass we made was very quickly put in the kiln and returned to us with the utmost care. I was gifted a glass fusion workshop at Rainbow Glass Studios and it is honestly one of the best gifts I have ever received. Eleanor was so kind and informative, encouraging all creative ideas and finding ways to achieve anything that came to mind. The studio is such a lovely space and Eleanor was very welcoming ensuring everyone was comfortable. I spent the morning learning glass cutting and fusing techniques and then designing some pieces that I then made in the afternoon. Coming away I felt like I had achieved so much, having made five different pieces using a variety of different techniques. I would highly recommend taking a class with Eleanor, I myself am hoping to take more in the future!

Eleanor was honestly so generous and supportive and knowledgable! Would highly highly recommend anyone to go on one of the Rainbow Glass Studios Courses! As a student on a budget, I was blown away by the value for money and genuine desire to empower each of us to gain a confidence in enamelling (despite me having never done it before!). After going on the copper bowl enamelling course, I came away with not just two bowls, but the two tester small curved bowl-shaped pendants which she put on great quality chains for us and let us keep at NO EXTRA COST!! She also let us stay long after the session ended just to make sure we had finished and tried everything we wanted to so we could go home with something we were truly proud of. She was so encouraging and tailored the day to our individual skill levels and needs, and she genuinely wants to do everything she can to help you get the most out of the day - far exceeding any of our (already high) expectations! The quality of the materials (the really wide range of power colours-if anything was so large it was hard to choose!!, and the various gems and flower pieces and enamel chunks for melting onto, and so many stencils to choose from as well as books to flick through for inspiration!). The depth knowledge she shared about so many different type of enameling and also other methods such a small fusing glass was SO inspiring!! I will be telling everyone at my uni (Central Saint Martin’s) to come and do this course because it’s SO worth it!!!

My husband and I went today to a Christmas decorations class there and had an absolutely fantastic day. Eleanor is a superb teacher and all levels were supported, beginners to more experienced. We can't rate this highly enough. We just loved it. AND would recommend this place to anyone. Eleanor and her husband Richard are very talented glass artists and teachers. Brilliant!

We gave one another the glass fusing course for our birthdays and it was a superb day out. Eleanor is a wonderful teacher who stikes a perfect balance between support and challenge and moves her classes on at a good pace that ensures everyone is on board and there is still time to achieve.We both made a bowl and another piece and we are thrilled with the results. I have recommend the course to anyone who will listen and may we'll return for another day.

The two courses I did at Rainbow Glass Studios were both well taught organised and engaging.I have completed a few private fused glass short courses before, however Eleanor's approach is very clear and consise. I felt more informed about the process and loved her system of cleanliness whilst creating. I also liked her ability to keep everyone interested and focused on their designes.I would definitely attend more classes.

What a fantastic day this was! Eleanor is a great teacher, very patient and full of positive encouragement. I made 4 pieces using different techniques, which were explained at the beginning of the class. I went 2 friends and we all loved it. A great day out with friends and I learnt how to do something new! Good value and great fun.

We recently went on the enamelling course and it was absolutely fantastic. The course was very well structured, packing in lots of learning without feeling rushed.Eleanor is an excellent teacher. She's extremely knowledgeable, generous with time and materials, and was good at guiding and supporting our ideas so we came away a number of great pieces.Would definitely reccomend these courses for anyone looking to try out working with glass!

Had a fantastic day on the Fused Glass course taught by Eleanor. Eleanor is a highly accomplished and knowledgeable tutor who imparts information and instructions clearly.She is professional and friendly, has a good rapport with students creating a lovely, inspiring atmosphere in the studio.There's ample time to ask questions, seek guidance on ideas you have in mind as well as pursuing new ones trying out different techniques using a variety of media.I've returned to this course several times over the years, highly recommended!
