Stayed here for a night and ate at the pub. We were in one of the older rooms which certainly had it's charm while still being well maintained and clean. The pub has a nice aesthetic and good selection of draught beer. The fish special we ordered was very nice but the pie somewhat bland. There is plenty of parking and the location is right on the highway making this an ideal place to stay during a road trip.

We visited the bar, museum and gift shop, and I recommend a visit to each! There is a great atmosphere in the bar, the decor is stunning, very original and unique. The museum was interesting. Personally, I preferred the original museum from years ago. The smugglers section was good and informative. However, the section about an author for me personally would not be enough alone for me to recommend a visit. The bar has great character, I did not stay in a room, so I can't comment on a stay or service. However, the staff we spoke to were all friendly, and I do plan to experience an overnight stay! The gift shop is worth a visit, and the location is great! Literally out in the middle of nowhere, absolutely stunning

Accommodation and location are both fantastic, we have stayed here several times and the hotel experience is great. However, the dining experience in the main dining room (where you get table service) falls well short of expectations and seems to be getting worse across our stays. Staff are abrupt, disinterested and so slow. When we sat down there were only 3 of us waiting to be served. It took 25 minutes before our order was eventually taken by the ever absent staff. Food arrived within 15 minutes and was fine. Once finished we again waited for a member of staff as we were considering dessert, however after 20 mins of no visible waiting staff we gave up and went and hunted for someone so that we could pay for the food. Amazingly poor service. In future we will probably sit in the bar area where you can just order food yourself at the bar as this seemed to be quick and efficient.Breakfast the following day had great service and lovely friendly staff. However, the cost at £14.50 per person is really poor value for money and we are unlikely to do this again. We will probably be back but it will be for the accommodation and not the dining room service

Our second time here as non residents for the restaurant, the last time was a few years ago. The food standard has massively changed. There used to be proper menus, now just cards like a usual fast food joint. The atmosphere of such a historical place has been lost. The staff were lovely but the food just typical pub grub. Very disappointing and left as soon as we finished.

Absolutely loved it here! Service was fantastic and our little dog was treated like a VIP guest. We felt well looked after. The food was tasty and huge portions, the building is fascinating and loved meeting other people on the bar and sharing stories. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. Can’t fault the Jamaica Inn. Our firstVisit but we’ll be back.

Love this place. Staff very nice ( and thankfully a Dog free area to eat without worrying if a dogs been sniffing round the table top and their owners feeding them titbits then drinking out of a glass/ plate/ cutlery etc that you may get next time without washing their hands. Disgusting ) foods always very good at a good price. Views and history of the Inn speak for themselves. If I could change anything it would be to have waitress service. You have to get a table then go to the Bar to order and then get drinks that are quite heavy and awkward to carry up and down stairs . Also when it's busy there can be a dozen or more people trying to do the same and only a couple of staff serving.

Didn't stay here, just called in for Sunday lunch and a look around the museum.Loved the museum and the lunch was absolutely amazing, the best Sunday lunch we've had for ages. We are both seniors and can't eat big meals, so we ordered the children's meal, we didn't want the child starter and just went for roast turkey and roast gammon, absolutely D E L I C I O U S we were totally stuffed!! I had to leave my roast potatoes and most of my Yorkshire pudding, thank goodness we didn't have the starter!! The pub is fabulous, a wonderful atmosphere and lovely friendly staff, I wish we lived nearer!!!
