St Marks is a Coptic Orthodox church in the heart of Kensington, on the corner of Scarsdale Villas and Allen Street. Welcoming church. This church is dedicated to St Mark the Apostle and Evangelist. Used as a polling station at election time. The church was built in 1863 by the architect J M McCulloch for the Scottish Presbyterians and with a tower turning octagonal at the top with a quirky angled corner turret. St Johns church ( as it was known ) was sold in 1975 to the Coptic Orthodox church and became St Mark's.

I worked here as a videographer. Brother Anthony and everyone else here were so welcoming and helpful in running the wedding ceremony. Best church I have ever had the pleasure of working in!

Beautiful Orthodox Parish. Congregation is warm and welcoming. If you're visiting for the first time try to let someone know or go speak to the priests of the parish. There is a young adult and university group that meets on Fridays at 8pm.
