The Nest Childcare Winchester

We are so happy we found The Nest and the entire Nichols family! Claire, James and the whole team are so experienced and have thought of every detail to ensure a safe, smooth and happy time for the children in their care. It has the framework you’d expect from a bigger nursery but the smaller size means every child is nurtured, their needs are truly understood but they can also learn and play with children of all ages - the best of both worlds! The Nest is genuinely a loving home from home - something we really valued for our one year old, and couldn’t see in some of the bigger nurseries we visited. There’s lots of outdoor play and adventures, the updates we receive are brilliant, the menu is tasty and nutritious and our son has a smile on his face every day. Choosing The Nest to take care of our son has been the best decision, we’re so excited for him to continue to thrive! Thank you to everyone at The Nest!

We cannot thank (and recommend) Claire and James and their team at The Nest enough. They were exception with our kids (3.5yo and 11month old) and went above and beyond especially for our 11month old who wouldn’t nap in the cot or take the bottle without concerted effort. They were seriously a Godsend at a time when we had just moved to Winchester and had zero family/social supports. We are so sad to have to leave them as we are moving overseas.

They are amazing! I was so lucky to stumble across the services of Claire & James at The Nest. I very quickly realised this was where my youngest child needed to be in terms of regular childcare and education, particularly as she was approaching the age of 3 with only a year left before starting school. The care is second to none, the attentiveness of all the staff, is outstanding. They have a very calm yet fun and caring atmosphere all the time. The fresh healthy food and hygiene levels are the best ever. The nurturing and understanding of each and every child they care for is very evident, and all within a beautifully safe environment. The children are super polite and well mannered. My daughter has grown in confidence and knowledge hugely in the months we have been with The Nest so far. I highly recommend these services.

I really set on my son going to nursery and was so disappointed when he didn't get a place in time for me to return to work. We met Claire and James just as they were starting The Nest and so luckily they had a spot for our son at quite short notice. We had originally intended for him to only be there for a few months until he could get a spot at nursery but after about 3 weeks with Claire and James and their family we realised that we had chanced upon the most loving, wonderful, nurturing place and promptly cancelled our other plans as we couldn't imagine taking him away from somewhere that made him so happy. Our son has absolutely blossomed with them. He loves being there - and I credit The Nest with some key development milestones - including learning to walk within about a week of being there! Claire has excellent experience and I often ask for advice about things as I learn as a new Mum. This is so helpful but the biggest thing for us is that it is clear to see that Claire and James have created an impressively strong and loving family unit with their own 3 children and I can't express how grateful we are that they have made our son a part of that.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found the Nest and do not think there could be a better place for our nearly 2 year old. The Nest is a true home away from home for our son and they treat all the children in their care like part of the family. Every day they are going on new adventures or learning interesting things and I am sure they can be credited for his quick development since he has joined. It is such a happy, loving environment and we are so grateful for how well they look after him. Thank you Claire, James and Immie, you do a wonderful job! We could not recommend the Nest more highly.

Claire and James run a fantastic childcare service
