We visited on 9th October 2023, we didn't book, however, we got a table straight away. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The food was cooked well. Good selection of food to choose from.

Went on a Monday, not very busy so nice quiet meal. Chief came out to advise on the ingredients of food which was great for them to make the effort. Harvester is the only place that don't pepper their ribs which having an intolerance to pepper, makes this the only place I can visit. Only negative was they missed the crumble off the dessert, but overall was happy with the food. Would go again.

I’ve just visited Harvester for breakfast and unfortunately, the experience was marred by extremely poor customer service. Upon arrival, I approached the reception where a lady named Debbie was attending. I politely greeted her and mentioned that I had a table booked for 10:45 am. However, instead of acknowledging my presence, she stared at me blankly and pointed at her closed laptop, stating that she doesn't deal with technology. This initial interaction left me feeling confused and unwelcome. When she finally led me to my table, her demeanor remained unpleasant. I promptly expressed my readiness to order, but she responded with a disdainful look, paused for a second and insisted that she would return to take my order. This unnecessary delay and lack of professionalism were disappointing and completely unnecessary. It actually made me feel quite uncomfortable. It is clear that Debbie requires retraining in customer service, as her behavior was not only rude but also made me feel unwelcome as a customer. Such an experience tarnishes the reputation of Harvester as a whole.I hope that Harvester takes the necessary steps to address these issues and improve their customer service, ensuring that no other customers have to endure such an unpleasant encounter. Also, the black pudding wasn’t cooked.

Edit 15/2/22 - Another visit on a Wednesday evening, and it was much better, although I felt I wanted to help front of house as the only 2 staff members we saw seemed rushed off their feet. The food was good, and I got my requests this time. I would recommend using actual burger shaped Halloumi in the HALLO MI as it literally falls apart as soon as you bite it. It was super yummy, but it was super messy, too. Kids' meals were OK. Again, they seemed too busy as we had a minor item missing, and so did the table behind. Shame the app was down that evening to pay at table, I think that would have helped the working staff too. As we waited 25 minutes to pay.A pleasant venue, clean, with a positive vibe. I have been here a few times. Tonight....I got the wrong drink AND the wrong main, but the pudding was lovely. Fortunately, I love food, so I ate what I had been served without kicking up a fuss this time. Perhaps on my next visit, I'll get the burger I asked for instead of what I received. I feel it's due to staff not knowing the NEW options on the menu as I asked for mine by its title and still didn't get it.I feel the front of house staff should be a bit more attentive to those dining. Placing the bill on the table and disappearing for 10 minutes, etc. Nonetheless, the staff were pleasant people.

Alters raod harvester is okay in general but what really bothered me was that when I ordered a normal beef burger they normally lightly toast it, when I got it the buns were charred.I sent the burger back and got a normal burger back, when I proceeded to eat it I nearly choked on two small bones that were in the burger. Now I now it was a beef burger and I can tell you those do not look like anything found in beef! They look like chicken bones but of small chicks! The supply of beef burgers are low quality which I was expecting but what I was not expecting was bones, let alone bones not from the same animal for which meat I was expecting to get! That will be the last time for Great Salterns Harverster for me and all family!

Food was amazing. They were very busy and delays of upto 1 hour from ordering. Salad bar fresh and help yourself. All restrictions lifted. Was a bit chaotic at times. Plenty if seating but advise to book a table if your thinking of going. Especially on a Sunday. No Sunday roast on offer. Nice variety on menu though. Asked if anyone had allergies as they would get what you wanted due to cross contamination which was a nice touch. Wasn't required though.

Lovely View, food was good , ribs were nice and soft and well seasoned. Chip could be a little bit crispier .

£12 for a fish and chips that was dry and tiny (fork for scale) . Took over an hour for the food to arrive, all of which had been sat under the hot lamp for half an hour. Used to love this place but it's gone massively downhill.I feel bad for the waiters and waitresses. Understaffed and overworked.
