Ross Fountain
The Ross Fountain is located at the heart of Edinburgh city centre in the beautiful setting of Princes Street GardensSculpted by artist Jean-Baptiste Jules Klagmann, this fountain has been made from cast-iron, a shining example of 19th century sculpture. If you take a closer look at the base of the fountain, there are mermaids, walrus and lion heads and cherrubs. At the top are featured four female figures representing science, arts, poetry and industry.

Perfect photo opportunity! Serene and great to just relax after an afternoon shopping. Plenty of green space around with the castle in the background. Food & drink options nearby as well as nearby toilets. Definitely give here a visit!(Photo by me on Canon 80D)

This exquisite cast-iron fountain, with its intricate design and rich history, is a true gem in the heart of Princes Street Gardens.Taking a stroll through the gardens and coming across the Ross Fountain is a delightful experience. The fountain's ornate statues and decorative details are simply stunning, and they provide a perfect backdrop for photos. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply someone looking for a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery, the Ross Fountain has something to offer.Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the beauty of the fountain and its surroundings. It's a lovely spot to sit and take in the view of Edinburgh Castle as well. So, if you're in Edinburgh, make sure to make a stop at the Ross Fountain and soak in the charm and history of this iconic landmark. You won't be disappointed.

Ross fountain is a stunning fountain nestled in the heart of Princes' Street Gardens. It offers a stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and has intricate designs. Personally, I believe that this is one of Edinburgh's hidden gem, that is easily missed amongst the hustle and bustle of Princes' Street. During the summer this is a lovely place to grab some food and have a picnic on the green surrounding the fountain.

It is a beautiful place with a wonderful view of the fountain and the castle. The garden itself is neat and green and the fountain is very nice. There is also a coffee shop nearby, but I don't recommend it. The prices are exaggerated for nothing special and the staff arrogant. (I also left them a running review).

Discover the perfect frame at this spot, where you can capture a stunning photo of the fountain with the Edinburgh Castle as a breathtaking backdrop. During my visit, Edinburgh Christmas Market was in full swing. I believe this is a temporary fencing for the season. But I managed to get as close as possible to the fountain.
