Radyr Hydro Scheme

Very wonderful place to spend the weekend time with the family

Visited this place a while ago and we found it relaxing. We also watched fish trying to jump up stream. Will visit again

A few picnic benches next to Radyr Weir and hydroelectric scheme. No visitor facilities.

A lovely place to go for a walk or bike ride. From here you can walk all the way to Cardiff centre if you like. Really interesting to watch the hydro waterfall work. Nice place to walk the dogs as they can go in the streams and river.

Great walks threw the forest loads of paths to follow.

Herons, Various ducks and CormorantsThere are picnic benches if you need a rest or bite to eat.You can park your car near by on the industrial estate road.Word of warning, I have seen children jumping from the Hydro structure into the deep rive. Very dangerous as these turbines are automatic depending on water levels. They could just turn on. Now there is plenty of shallow areas just down from this if you fancy a paddle.

Interesting to see working of a hydroelectric power project.

Quite impressive.The turbines aren't always running but a good waymark on the Taff Trail and has good views of the river and weir.

Great outdoor space for walking or cycling or just simply dangle your feet in the taff river on a sunny day
