Maidenhead Aquatics Grantham

Great selection of fish, all tanks are clean, fish well cared for, the store is well stocked and nicely presented, reasonably priced items for novice and experienced fish keepers.Unfortunately most of the staff are very rude and hostile, and we feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable when visiting. We've been using the store for several months to buy two tanks, fish, plants, decor etc etc, and I've brushed off the attitudes of two members of staff until now, but after the most recent visit I won't be back unless staff services are dealt with.The slightly older chap is very nice so I don't want him to feel bad, unfortunately I don't know his name. He's helpful, friendly, welcoming, answers questions I have, excellent customer service. I like him.The other two, lad with the beard, girl with the brown hair are incredibly rude, far too busy in their own conversations, and glaring at you from the other side of the store as soon as you walk in. Both, especially the girl are unapproachable, downright hostile and quite frightening. I have never felt so unwelcome when I've walked into a store than I do here and I hate the atmosphere.This last visit was the final straw. I almost left in tears because of their attitudes, I would rather travel a few extra miles to another store than deal with these two again. Shame, as I had my eyes on a few fish but never mind.

My Brother, & niece has aquariums. We visit regular while on vacation at Belton woods. They both purchased some fish to take home. Maidenhead Aquatic staff are helpful for advise and friendly. Recommended. Plenty to see & purchase.

Really lovely staff, so helpful and informative, particularly Stephen, who spent ages with us offering tips for our new tank. Dale too has been amazingly patient with all our questions. To be able to try out the wood and rocks we’d chosen in a tank our size was incredible kind, sorry I didn’t get the lady’s name that suggested this. Thank you for all your advice, the plants are looking wonderful and settling in nicely, see you next week for the first of our fish! Hopefully we will have made the decision between Cardinal or Rummynose tetras

We are relatively new to Aquarium keeping so we've had a lot of silly/basic questions.The team at Grantham (Belton Garden centre) have always been more than helpful with any questions or issues we've had. They are more than willing to help, get involved and figure out solutions. After visiting a couple of other aquarium shops we soon decided to keep returning to Belton.Their knowledge and experience shows as they know the answer to anything you ask, whether it be aquarium plants, fish or food etc. Or pond fish, plants, food etc. And if, on the rare occasion they don't know, they're willing to find out and share it with you, rather than sending you away none the wiser.We very recently bought a new aquarium from them as our original structure had failed, becoming unsafe. We chose Maidenhead because of our past experiences with them, and knowing that we'd be taken care of and our needs were addressed, rather than trying to sell us the most expensive tank in the store.They made the whole process very simple and stress free, they even looked after us on price.I have no hesitation in recommending the staff there and Maidenhead as a company, they have a genuine interest in what they do and it shows. You and your fish are in safe hands!

Good selection and staff were knowledgeable about the fish too. Fish looked healthy and well taken care of. Would like to see more bigger fish for the larger community tank, but generally a nice place.

My husband was served by Steven in the aquatics department, he was a very knowledgeable member of staff and we will be going back for our future products.

Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a wide range of tanks to choose from plus loads of decorations for your aquarium. All the fish in stock look super healthy and I not had any nasty surprises with any of the fish I’ve bought from here. The prices are fair and at the moment they have some really good deals on equipment like filters and new lights (not sure if this is just for January)

Having problems setting up our tank again. Spoke to Annie and she recommended a few things which we are working through. She's very reassuring as it seems to be going on forever!

Knowledgeable and kind staff who clearly know their trade. They have a large selection of tropical and cold water fish which are rotated constantly. They are my go to whenever I need supplies or am looking for new fish!

We have been coming here for a few months now and have set up 3 successful tanks so far with their help. All staff are incredibly friendly and are available to answer any questions you may have.It’s nice to have a local store where the staff are passionate about the work that they do. We have spoken to them about their personal tanks and what they would suggest for our tanks and it’s obvious that they are all knowledgeable and have the fishes best interests.The stingray at the entrance is also a must see!
