Wise Women Village Doula

I found Clem online in the middle of a quick, active labour. I’d planned a homebirth with support of midwives but at the last minute found out my unit was closed with nobody on call. I was heavily encouraged to go to my next nearest hospital and unwillingly had to listen to a lot of extreme (and unlikely) risks of giving birth alone at home by a midwife who really shook my confidence. I knew the only way to feel back in control was to speak to an expert that I knew would support and encourage the belief I knew I had deep down that I could do this myself. Clem was absolutely amazing. After never speaking to her before, she instantly got a sense of what I needed from her in between contractions, and stayed on the phone with me for an hour, supporting not only me but my birth partners in the room and giving us all the confidence that baby could come at home without midwifes. I went from panicking and scared to totally driven to get my baby out by myself and that would never have turned around without Clem. If I have any more children, a doula will be up the top of my priority list. You can really tell it’s a soul passion and not just a job. Thank you so much Clem - I can’t believe I got an even better birth than I could have planned for after what seemed like such a scary change to my original plans, I now believe it was always meant to happen that way. My labour ended up short, productive, had no fear involved and my baby is perfect. I delivered him myself into the water and was so proud of what we’d all achieved.

Clem is a true gift to this planet. Her connection to nature makes her really peaceful to be around. She’s a perfect person to learn from when it comes to sustainability, to going back to our roots and make things from scratch. I find her insanely inspiring. And I heard her meals are to die for!

Working with Clem has been a dream. Her calming energy and presence has been a great source of reassurance throughout my pregnancy. She has helped me feel informed and ready to make empowered choices during birth and delivery and has helped me and my partner create a strong plan for postpartum. I am so happy to continue to work with her and would strongly recommend her to all birthing people looking for support.
