We needed to do a mental capacity assessment for my Mum because this was a requirement of the lender when trying to release equity from my mums house to fund her care. Mum is now very elderly and has been living with dementia for the last 5 years. Understandably we were very anxious about this process because my mother has always been fiercely independent and we did not want the experience to be negative for her. I briefed Neil both in writing and verbally before his visit and the feedback I had from Mum's live-in carer was that he was enormously skilful in the way he handled Mum. The resulting report shows that the tests applied were thorough and cumulative in their intent to build a picture of Mums capacity.So I can’t recommend Simply Social Work enough. Neil has done a simply brilliant job in a highly sensitive context and reminded me of the value of working with skilled professionals.

I booked Neil to assess whether my mother in law's financial affairs power of attorney should be activated. He was very good - very pleasant, patient, thorough and professional. He was very flexible on timings and willing to reconvene twice (without extra cost) when my mother in law got tired. I would definitely recommend him.
