Ideal Flooring Sussex

Used this company for Amtico flooring and carpeting in early 2022. We would never use them again. It took us several weeks of chasing to get a quote form them - we should have taken this as a warning sign.During the work we suffered damage to furniture and doors. This included glue being smeared on the back of our sofa - which we only discovered when moving furniture back - no admission or apology came from the fitter. There were severe scrape marks on a bed frame. Two internal doors were also badly damaged when carpet was taken up (we were told it was our fault for having ‘cheap’ doors!).We watched as carpet was delivered and dumped on the filthy footpath outside our home - when I asked for it to be moved the fitter blatantly rolled it out across the road in front of our house (to supposedly re-roll it). One fitter even ridiculed our choice of sustainable underlay to a colleague within my earshot.A plan/request to replace mismatched and unlevel floorboards in one room was ignored along with requests to screw down squeaking boards. Basically the company wanted to make life as easy as possible for themselves. If I’d have known these elements weren’t going to be done I’d have gone elsewhere.On top of all this, almost all interactions with anyone at the company were sullen, bordering on rude, particularly after we’d agreed to go ahead. Its worth noting the company don’t appear on any other review sites. This project is our biggest regret - the experience was so awful we wish we’d never had the work done.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. They really went out of their way to help us when an issue arose (that was the fault of our builders), and made sure everything was fitted to an extremely high standard. We’re really pleased with how our flooring looks, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

Hard to put into words how pleased we are with the new floor. We had great advice on choosing materials and colour and had samples supplied for us to take home and look at it more detail. The fitting was superb and attention to detail cannot be faulted. The result has transformed the whole of the downstairs of the house.
