The Crofter's House
The Crofter's House is an outstanding place to stay - set in stunning surroundings. Early morning paddles with the seals in the bay at the bottom of the road highly recommended! The cottage is beautifully restored, decorated, furnished and equipped with everything you need. Handy and secure off-road parking too.

The Crofter's House
A lovely few days stay at the Crofters House which is a cosy hideaway just above a quiet bay. We saw seals in the shallow waters of the bay everyday which was really magical. The house itself is perfect for two and considering it's winter it heated up super quick, especially with the fire. The location is really central to the island so you can reach all the main sites within about 30 mins and supermarket in Portree 5 mins away. It's a lovely place to explore Skye from and to come back to in the evenings and get cosy.

The Crofter's House
This place is just delightful … we were extremely lucky to grab 3 nights here in what was an already busy booking period due to relaxation of Covid rules and the rush for ‘staycations’.Normally when we’re away, we minimise the time we spend indoors and try to maximise our time exploring; unfortunately when we arrived at The Crofters House the weather was atrocious but we certainly didn’t feel like we were wasting our time spending hours here … in fact we cancelled our dinner reservation in Portree one night in favour of eating in as the house is such a cosy and inviting space. The kitchen has a great range of pots, pans and utensils, everything you need for a full roast dinner or anything else you fancy making. In the outhouse, there’s a washing machine and tumble dryer. Pretty much everything you need is in this house, almost a home from home. There’s also a great range of cleaning supplies, however, be advised you’ll need to bring your own tea, coffee, milk etc as this is not supplied. Also, bring a bag of logs and treat yourself to using the toasty log burner. We live in what we thought was a quiet village, but this place really is quiet. Open the Velux in the bedroom at night and enjoy not only really fresh air but the sound of owls, and awake to the sound of bird song and sheep (the nearest you get to rush hour here is a passing sheep and it’s lambs) … a countryside lovers dream indeed! If you can, you really should book this place now.

The Crofter's House
We had a great week in this very cosy cottage. The Crofter's House is very well equipped, though some might miss a microwave oven and a TV that picks up digital channels (we didn't). The only other thing missing from our point of view was somewhere to sit outside (midges /weather permitting!!). However, don't let this put you off. This is clean, comfortable, compact accommodation in a lovely setting.

The Crofter's House
This is a great place to stay on Skye. The house has everything for a warm comfortable stay, the kitchen is especially well equipped. Most importantly, although it is in a lovely peaceful spot it is only about 10 minutes from Portree. If you are planning on eating out in the evenings and want a choice of restaurants, then Portree is the only place. Great comms with Sarah. Our stay at the Crofters cottage made out first trip to Skye very memorable - that, and the amazing weather !

The Crofter's House
We stayed at the Crofters House for 3 nights after the Covid lock down.Location is great in Camastianavaig just south of Portree. There is a short walk from the house to the bay where there is a table and bench to sit at and just take in the view and the silence. We spent a few hours there each day early in the morning having breakfast which we took down there and evening with our drinks. The house itself is small but adequate for 2 and also has a washing machine and dryer in an outhouse which is very handy after a few days of walking. The things we didn't like about the house were the kitchen which was well used and being a wooden top was stained around the taps as you would expect but is quite unsightly. The bed springs had definitely seen better days and really is/was very springy. After a long days walking you couldn't help but fall asleep but the bed really could be more comfortable. The dryer was impossible to open until I noticed a screw driver on the work top above it and was able to lever it open. Obviously there strategically placed for a purpose. This might seem harsh and maybe the crofters house is due for a refurbish, but it did let the place down.If you are only interested in location then that's just 5star.

The Crofter's House
The house was in a perfect condition, it has plenty of room for two and was very well designed. All of that you could have seen from the pictures as well. But what i like to mention also is the location which was really nice, close enough to buy something from the supermarket but far enough to have a quite stay. The directions and communication with Sarah was very friendly and warm. We did not miss a single thing and would recommend that house to everyone who is going for a trip to Skye.

The Crofter's House
We loved staying at The Crofter's House - it felt like a home away from home. Sarah made everything very easy, from sending directions to the cottage in advance, to providing maps and some local tourist info in the house. The house was very stylish and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend retreat.

The Crofter's House
I had the honor and privilege of staying at the Crofter's house in mid-March. The residence itself is often the beaten track. It is the perfect choice for a quieter stay. It is about a 10 minute drive into Portree where you can find all the necessary amenities. Sarah is a very gracious host. She responds very quickly to any questions that you might have. She is also very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at the Crofter's house. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye!

The Crofter's House
We loved the Crofter's House. We were travelling as friends but would recommend this as a perfect romantic escape to Skye. The House is thoughtfully designed, well-equipped and the perfect base to explore the Isle . While having the feeling of being secluded, it is also within an easy drive of the main township of Portree if you wish to dine in town. Highly recommended.
