Sitting Spiritually of Lyme Regis

I'd wanted a Sitting Spiritually swing seat ever since sitting on one at Harlow Carr years ago, and I'm so pleased to finally have my own. It's so comfortable and the quality shines through. It's perfect for relaxing in the garden! I can't recommend the service from Siobhan and the team enough - from my initial enquiry through to choosing the paint colour, then arranging the delivery and assembly. I wouldn't hesitate to encourage others to buy from them.

My beautiful swing seat arrived yesterday. Delivery was excellent with email and phone call to advise delivery time.The seat itself is very comfortable sturdy yet very pleasant to look at and fits in beautifully on the patio. Definitely five star.

We wanted to select a very special bench in memory of my husband's sudden passing. From our very first interaction, we were warmly guided through the selection and design process and were able to add personalised detailing to our gorgeous autumnal bench. The craftsmanship is outstanding and the generous, comfortable design of our bench has made it an attractive centrepiece in the garden as well as a fitting space to reflect.The Sitting Spiritually team were responsive and helpful when we encountered a challenge in positioning the bench in the garden due to access issues.We absolutely love our beautiful oak bench and thank everyone at Sitting Spiritually for the part they have played in creating the perfect homage to a very special man.

Very happy with our swing seat. We'd sat on one at RHS Bridgewater so had an idea of the quality, and the one we purchased is just as good. Hand made from solid oak with a lovely finish, just what we wanted. We also had personal and attentive service, we spoke to the owner himself several times and know the name of the craftsman that actually made our seat and have his photo. Even the guy who delivered and set it up seemed to really care about the product and what he was doing. Such quality and service is rare these days. Our swing arrived on the day it was promised and was assembled in around 30 minutes. It was more expensive than any other swing I looked at but it has been built to a much higher specification, matching the oak pergolas we recently purchased. It’s nice to know that you can still purchase British made high quality outdoor furniture made by specialist companies like Sitting Spiritually.

It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with this small, friendly, family run business. They are prompt in replying to emails or phone calls, the ordering and delivery of our oak swing seat went very smoothly. Before you take delivery you are sent a picture of the completed seat and it was delivered in a sensible size van that could manage the track and tight turning. The product is high quality craftsmanship, very comfortable and you will find your friends and neighbours admiring the finished product.

We are enjoying our swing seat- it arrived in February. We felt very welcomed by Martin last summer when we visited the ‘showroom’ to choose the design. We opted for the ergonomically designed version- really comfortable. Would highly recommend….

Visiting a local Open Garden in Cornwall, we sat on a swing bench (not a Sitting Spiritually one) and found the gentle motion quite relaxing. So, we decided to have a look around to get one for ourselves.A quick search on Google included Sitting Spiritually, and my wife recalled seeing them in magazines.I sent for the brochure and when it came it conveniently included a list of accommodation near to the showroom. What better, a mini break to Lyme Regis and an appointment to meet Martin.Well, the showroom is Martin’s garden, and it was beautiful. There are examples of pretty much everything that SS make on show, and Martin guides you around explaining about each piece. His passion for his products is clear to see and the fact that he uses local craftsmen to make everything is a massive bonus, how often do you see such high quality garden furniture/anything these days that is made in this country?We had pretty much decided before we went what we were going to buy, and having seen, and sat on the Oak Tranquillity bench placed our order for a four seater. As Martin pointed out, that would allow a six footer (180 cm) person like me to lay down on it.However, later that night we could not get the Kyokusen bench out of our minds, yes it was over £2000 more but as Martin explained the curved wood used in construction is quite unique so no two benches will ever be the same.It was quite an easy decision to make, but this does show that if it is possible, a visit to Lyme Regis is highly recommended to actually view, and sit on the benches! A quick e-mail was sent and the upgrade was sorted out.The wait was only a couple of weeks, and during that time we we moved the potential location in our garden three times. The bench is like a work of art, and it now sits on our front lawn, in front of the house so we can see it all the time, it’s too good looking to be out of sight.I can confirm, that with a couple a cushions, in the sunshine with my book, with the sound of the stream behind and birdsong above, there is no more comfortable place to rest and relax.Our whole dealing with SS has been excellent, from our initial meeting with Martin, to Siobhan in the office dealing with our upgrade etc, to the man who delivered it and assembled it for us, a follow up call from Martin to ensure we were happy with everything and the nice touch of a card telling you about the man who made it.We couldn’t be more happy with our swing bench and if anyone is looking for a top quality product made in Dorset, England we would thoroughly recommend them.

After much wishful thinking and amorous gazing at the swing seats at RHS Bridgewater we ordered an accoya swing seat on a pine frame.We had friends round for tea and one of them asked if we clean the bench daily. To be fair other than mopping up after some of our fantastic, wet summer we have had little need; the paint finish it came with is fantastic!I do mean the full" months of torrential rain we have had as we got our bench back in March this year so it had full exposure to those earlier weeks of very hot dry weather and then rain and more rain.The whole ordering process and Martin's engagement and support from his team were second to none. Delivery was very well managed and as we have narrow access to our back garden there were no problems as the limbs are delivered separate and installed in position. As well as a care booklet there was also the remains of a tin of paint used

The swing is a beautiful addition to our garden. It is well made and of excellent design. One man constructed our swing in about 20 minutes, it was marvellous to watch and learn how the swing goes together.An email we received from Sitting Spiritually, showed a description of how to fix the swing more firmly to the ground, I would suggest that if you want to anchor the swing then you use the 30mm Spirafix product rather than the 40mm anchor as the 40mm breaks the most commonly available engineering bricks (see pictures).Other than that small hiccup, I would certainly recommend Sitting Spiritually.
