I was very impressed with Colm in getting our planning appeal approved after initially being refused from Brighton Council. We didn't give up and Colm put together a very comprehensive appeal statement and he was relentless in his pursuit of getting the appeal overturned. He even managed to get us a rebate on our planning fees from Brighton Council ! I have already recommend Colm to some friends and I will definitely be using CMK planning again in the future.

I’m a small business owner that has had to get planning permission for two fairly big projects in the last three years. I had similar stories each time that both of them ended up receiving numerous objections and yet I had a very different experience with the two of them, mainly because we used CMK Planning the second time around.There is no doubt that applying for (and fighting for) planning permission can be exceptionally stressful and yet Colm and his team managed to make it a relatively painfree experience. There are two main reasons that I think made all the difference:-1. For starters, Colm’s experience of the system is vast. He does not give opinions purely driven by textbook knowledge or knowing what ‘should’ happen, he has been doing this for so long from both sides of the table he can predict and expect most moves and answers, which makes having him onside invaluable.2. Secondly, his customer service and investment in our project made him stand head and shoulders above the planning consultant we used previously. I never had to chase Colm, he was proactively on top of our case at every stage. Planning consultants work on a fixed fee basis and when I used a different consultant for the first project we reached a point where the consultant had kinda given up caring and I needed to massively stay on top of him for things to keep moving. This would not happen under Colm’s watch. He’s got your back and will see the application through to the end and fight for it every step of the way.

I have really enjoyed working with Colm across a number of projects. As a developer, a property consultant is a key part of the team on any project. Colm is exceptionally diligent and detailed with the submissions he prepares, and instinctively understands the pinch points on a scheme and how to best present it for success. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to homeowners and developers alike.

From the outset Colm, Jo and the team at CMK Planning have been fabulous to work with. Colm listened to our wishes and concerns and came up with some great ideas for a site which had a chequered past. He then worked with us and a great local architect which he recommended, to draw up plans which met our requirements but also which he felt, with his vast experience, would be acceptable to the planners. He then completed all the necessary paperwork and submitted everything on our behalf, which was in itself a great relief as Council paperwork is never easy :) After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we received permission for the site and can not thank Colm enough.
