Goukstone Shepherds Huts

Magical! The most gorgeous huts, overlooking the most beautiful landscape, run by the most delightful family. A proper off-grid experience that doesn't stint on the luxury. By some magic these wee huts have full double beds, shower room/toilet, woodturning stove, seating and table. There is a field kitchen nearby for cooking and a patio/fire area so you can enjoy sunny days, sunsets and stars - just magical! Each hut has plenty of privacy and the site is connected by grass paths mowed into the hillside. This is a working croft with chickens and sheep for the kids to look at. The hosts Emilie and Chris, who live on site, are charming and attentive, and can recommend any number of places to visit nearby. The huts come with electric bikes so you can explore! I cannot recommend Goukstone highly enough.

100% perfect. A unique experience. There's no roulotte like a Goukstone roulette! Favourite moment was seeing the sun rise over the hills with mist in the valleys below. A gorgeous setting any time of year.

The perfect getaway - thank you so much for an amazing weekend. We've made memories here that we will cherish forever. Goukstone is a real hidden gem and we can't wait to come back.

Would definitely recommend staying here, it is off-grid, self sustaining, peaceful and private. We stayed here with our dog for the night and really made the most of the area. After a long local walk to Gight Castle this was a perfect place to relax, especially for our spaniel who loved the comfy dog bed. We enjoyed the firepit and toasted marshmallows under an incredible night sky. The inside of the accommodation was very cosy we lit the stove which added extra warmth. The hut plus kitchen had everything you could need and breakfast was a bonus. If you like eco-friendly, dog-friendly stays and hosts that invest in local produce this is a must try.
