Visited several times when over from NZ. A lovely friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Always felt homely and safe Happy staff, friendly locals.

Kids allowed if eating..."You can tell its a "locals" pub and not wanting anyone else there. This is the second time I have visited and both times not overly friendly.The sign as you approach states no Kids allowed unless eating. It was a bit difficult today with my 9 week old baby who doesn't eat solids to have one of their meals. I assume they have worked out that there current "local" customers don't have any Kids. I would give zero stars if possible

Visited today for the first time with my family for Sunday lunch, only to be told my 3yr old grandson was not allowed to sit outside with us. I asked why and the reason given was that we had only ordered three meals.There were five in our group and the staff had wrongly presumed that my grandson was not eating. He was in fact sharing with my daughter and elderly father. Having reflected on that I went into the pub to further query what had been said only to be told that he could stop but would have to leave as soon as the food had been eaten. There was no explanation of why this rule existed or apology. Terrible customer service. This is clearly NOT a child friendly pub and we will NOT be returning.

Nice Pub, great food, and friendly staff. I would strongly suggest calling ahead if you want food as I've got knocked back a couple of times because they have an event they are catering for.

Visited on Gala Day, it was packed which is understandable and good for business.However not very welcoming by staff had to repeat my order several times as she was preoccupied with talking with her colleagues and the regulars.

We sat outside and had a drink here after walking in the area on a Sunday. It was quite busy inside but plenty of seats outside and the weather was decent enough!

Sunday lunch in the sun.I have to say, this is the best Sunday beef lunch I have had in a long time.Beef melted in your mouth.Veg were cooked just to my liking, not hard like a lot of places seem to do! A good amount of gravy for your Yorkshires. It was perfect.I'm going back to try their wonderful looking burgers next.
