My friend & I have just come back absolutely buzzing from our weekend at Trans Wales Trails and cannot recommend them highly enough. Paul & Emily are excellent hosts and cannot do enough for you ... beautiful home cooked meals/cakes, lovely accommodation and more importantly brilliant ponies/horses. I had two ponies over the weekend, both of which were forward going and sensible. Any of the ponies could be lead horses and don't have to blindly follow the pony in front. The most amazing countryside to ride and plenty of opportunities for canter/gallops. It was a hot weekend so we adapted and went out earlier. Refreshing lunch stop at the pub and tea/cake to finish. Loved pretending I had my own horse for the weekend ... from catching in the field, grooming, tacking up and at the end of the day washing down and feeding and putting to bed!! A very happy, contented, well cared for herd of sensible Welsh D (mainly). We were fortunate that the whole party were really friendly and we had a lovely shared experience. The unseasonally good weather obviously helped too ;-)Rosie, our leader, is an amazing horsewoman and a beautiful person and we felt privileged to have her for company. We'll be back!!

Had an absolutely fantastic holiday here! Excellent ridding and horses, food was really good (I especially enjoyed the desserts). Very friendly place, the other ladies in my ridding group were so much fun and so was our guide Maz. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

Such a magical trip. As some of Trans Wales’ first guests for the new ‘Takeaway Riding Weekend’, planned in compliance with all the latest covid rules, we were made to feel instantly at home by Emily and Paul. Having been out of the saddle for a few years due to injury, I was a little apprehensive, but I needn’t have worried - our horses were friendly, eager and sure-footed, with bundles of personality - this certainly isn’t the typical ‘trekking centre’. Our wonderful guide Kirsty squeezed in a jam-packed two days of mountain-top views and gallops along the foothills, and after a few hours in the saddle, it was a joy to throw ourselves into life on the yard. The accommodation was perfect, the food delicious (they catered brilliantly for dietary requirements), and even the weather was spectacular. It’s a special place - we’ll be back sooner than we imagined! Thank you for having us, Beanie x

My niece and I are still high from an incredible riding weekend with TransWales. Both ex horse owners and were apprehensive regarding a riding holiday and the allocation of horses. We were not disappointed. The horses are wonderful and well matched to your ability. I rode Echo, a gelding shy of 16 hands. He was forward going, sensible and perfectly behaved on the ground. There is a small amount of lane riding to get up into the mountains. The views across the black mountains are incredible, with plenty of wide open spaces for fast canters and gallops. The horses all go up and a gear. A lot of fun! These home bred section D horses are superb, not your regular riding school types, they can really move - but do have a sensible head on them. The pub lunches and picnics were delicious and a well deserved break for both horse and rider. After your first day riding, we arrived at the horse’s overnight yard in Hay-on-Wye, untack, sponge down, feed and turn our your horse. It’s all a great bonding experience. 5 minute walk to our overnight accommodation at The old Black Lion in Hay (we were doing the Hay loop so overnighted away from the yard). We were served a fantastic dinner and breakfast. Day 2 another fab day of riding through wonderful countryside, then back to Transwales yard. We rode with a great bunch, not only from the Uk but Australia and the U.S.A. A massive THANK YOU to our lead rider Kirsty, who goes out her way to ensure everyone has the best experience, also thank you to owners Paul and Laura. If you’re thinking of a riding weekend/holiday with TRANSWALES just do it, you will not be disappointed.

Most enjoyable ride out I've had for years. The horses are amazing, sure footed and so well cared for. Kirsty is a great guide, so friendly, knowledgable and looked after us really well - thank you! Cake, tea and a cuddle with Paddy the lamb at the end of the day was a lovely way to end the experience, thanks Paul! See you soon for another great days' riding.

Recently did the Llantony Loop over a weekend- it was just the best experience ever! stunning scenery, fantastic horses, lovely group of people and brilliant organisation by the team at trans Wales. Also done a few day rides which are just as enjoyable. I have enjoyed riding here so much I don't think anywhere else is ever going to live up to it! can't wait to ride with them again!

A friend and I have just done the Hay Loop which was a wonderful and unforgettable adventure. Kirsty our leader was enthusiastic, leading us through the beautiful countryside and keeping an eye on us to ensure we were all comfortable with the pace, our horses and the terrain. Really good horses too, forward, well behaved and mostly stoppable! It was some of the most fun riding I have done for years. Our group was small and friendly. We ended up back at the farmhouse on the second day, eating delicious cake and saying goodbye to new friends both four legged and two.
