Jen Up has presented at Haringey’s Emotional Wellbeing Forum on two occasions covering ‘ Earlyintervention and prevention of eating disorders’ and ‘Social media and links to body image, food &exercise’. Both were professionally presented, very informative and well received by colleagues whoattended the Forum. We have found JenUP to b e helpful and supportive when planning anddelivering a programme.Ceri MayAnchor Approach Strategic Lead - Haringey Council12.05.22

Jenny joined the Jacobs Prism network for a talk earlier this month, which was incredibly well received. Jenny prepared an extensive range of topics and also a specific topic that we requested, which was much appreciated. Jenny answered any questions warmly and engaged with the audience. Thank you, Jenny for joining us and delivering such a fantastic session.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jenny Tomei / JenUp. At The Safeguarding Company Jen came onboard to run two informative webinars for us on eating disorders and compulsive exercise. She was extremely professional to work with and delivered the webinars to very high standard. She went above and beyond to understand our customers and audience needs and well as providing fantastic eating disorder and compulsive exercise toolkits free of charge. I have since worked with Jenny again on The Safeguarding Podcast, we have recorded three episodes, one of eating disorders and two more with Jenny's colleague Becky Stone on eating disorders and dyslexia and on emotionally abusive relationships and dyslexia. i would recommend JenUp to anyone from people suffering with eating disorders to teachers and organisations who want training on early intervention.

Jenny hosted an Early Intervention and Prevention of Eating Disorders training session for colleagues at the Association of Commonwealth Universities in March. The session was very informative, helpful, and provided colleagues with tools to spot early signs and symptoms of eating disorders, as well as strategies for successful intervention and signposting to support. Jenny was very approachable, professional and was happy to answer any questions.

I decided to reach out to Jenny for nutritional support during my struggle with an eating disorder. Jenny was recommended to me by my therapist at the time and was highly thought of. I decided that if I truly wanted to begin my recovery journey and have a healthier happier life I had to not only gain support for my mental state but also guidance for my diet and nutrition. And after having a small consultation and hearing about Jenny’s past with eating disorders and unhealthy relationship with exercise I felt she was a great fit. The use of an app to record my food through the day was very helpful as Jenny was able to keep a track of what I was eating and give me advice and support regarding my diet. As well as aiding me to understand my hunger cues and my relationship with food and exercise, looking at food as fuel to better my work outs. I can confidently say that my diet and my outlook on food and my exercise has vastly changed since the beginning of my sessions with Jenny. I would be naive to believe that I have fully recovered from my eating disorder however I am confident to say that I have improved my relationship with food as well as understanding the science behind my nutrition, this way I can think about the science behind my food instead of viewing it as the enemy. I now don’t feel as anxious when I eat out or if my food doesn’t go to plan or if I’m greeted with unexpected food, because I am able to understand that food is also memories, experiences and is there to be enjoyed. My biggest enemy was not my food but it was my mind, and it has taken me a long time to realise this but with the support of Jenny and her nutritional advice I was able to make the right decisions to aid to my recovery. Thank-you so much Jenny, I couldn’t recommend you more!
