At a time when we had many other things to think about, David Townsend made the funeral relatively simple. Professional and compassionate. I can highly recommend this company

I lost my sister in December during Covid and the help, advice and support the family received from David and Ann at this difficult time was exceptional. They arranged everything just the way that we wanted - a serene service for a special lady. They suggested a recording so that others could share the service afterwards which was sympathetically put together and meant that friends from afar could share the celebration of Diana's life. Thank you David - it was everything we had hoped for. You are simply the best.

My sister and I live in Australia and we recently lost our Mother in Yorkshire and with Covid we could not travel. Our brother Paul organised Mums funeral and assured us he felt very confident with HC Townsend and he spoke very highly of their support, care and guidance. In less than 10 hrs we received an electronic copy of the funeral. It went beyond all expectations. It was incredibly well produced and of such a high quality not only the pictures but the sound. We were completely blown away. Thank you, thank you so much HC Townsend for such a professional, beautiful and dignified sendoff.

My mother passed away after a long illness. I, being a true Yorkshireman, shopped around for prices. I specifically wanted a funeral directors which had their own cars and facilities rather than the funeral arrangers. I spoke to Ann Townsend and knew they were going to be my choice. I cannot praise her and David enough. Nothing was too much trouble and I found the whole process made easier with them behind you. I went to the chapel of rest and was delighted with how they presented Mum. Spot on! (She would have been delighted herself)! I don't go in for all this review stuff but I would recommend this family firm without hesitation. You'll be in great hands.

I had had no experience of dealing with the death of a relative. Townsends were recommended to me by a friend and I would not hesitate to pass on this recommendation. They made everything as easy as possible and looked after us from start to finish. They are so kind and knowledgeable and I cannot thank them enough for arranging everything and making a sad day into a memorable one for all the right reasons, they truly are exceptional.

My Mother died 10 years ago and at the time my father used David and his company to look after her and, as he did such a thorough job, then it was only natural that we call upon David when my Father passed away suddenly last month. David’s care, attention and professionalism were absolutely second to none and we felt in very safe hands. We have had such lovely comments about my Dad’s service and yes, we had a major input in that but the service went very smoothly and we never once felt concerned. We can’t thank David and his team enough, they made a very trying and upsetting time just a little bit less so with their support.

When you lose somebody very close to you, it's horrific. Nothing can prepare you for it but it's an inevitably of life I'm afraid.I've just lost my mum - she was called Joy. To get you through this you need the very best people around you - only hindsight has made me realise this - that's why I want to share my experience. We were so, so fortunate to have David and his team to look after us. They dealt with everything in the most sympathetic, professional yet friendly and caring way - something I am so grateful for and will be forever. They made a terrible time bearable. My lasting memories will be positive rather than negative and that's all down to David and his team. This company came very highly recommended to us by a friend who had used their services on two occasions. Having never organised a funderal before I was a complete novis, from the first moment I spoke with David I knew we were in good hands.We were made so welcome by Anne when we went to the chapel of rest, the last memory we had of him lay on the floor was not a nice way to remember him. Anne had done such a good job at laying him to rest He looked like he was in his 30's again, not in his 80's and just having a little snooze. We as a family now have a very happy last memory of him.They answered so many questions I had and nothing was too much trouble for them. When David came out to the house the week before the funeral he talked us through every moment of the funeral.I can highly recommend this family run service.Thank you for everything you did from the Myers family.
