I previously wrote a glowing review but unfortunately over the last few months it’s gone a bit downhill. One thing we notice is the girl who’s always answered the phone for the last year is pretty unfriendly and seemed to get ruder over time, but the girls there when you pick up your food are lovely. Last time we ordered, my fiancé got the duck rolls and they looked as if they’d burned them, wrapped them in new paper and refried them? They were charcoal inside. Everything else was okay, but our friends dumplings were horrible and everyone who tried them agreed. However, they have the best salt and pepper chips we’ve had in Kendal! Bit Disappointed :/

Fast and friendly service, very disappointing food, egg fried rice was boiled rice with a egg added, truly over cooked wonton meat??? Inside them??Sweet and sour sauce and chips fine.

Very good food with lots of choices on the menu, very good portion sizes. The food stayed warm to be eaten at home. Unfortunately they are no longer doing the fish and chips side of Ruby's, and as winter is on it's way and with circumstances as they are at present having to wait outside is very cold... They could do with a shelter or a heater of some sort for those not in a car.

We've used Rubys for quite a long time and been satisfiedUnfortunately last nights was very poorFront of house staff really need talking too. Rood, impolite and off hand, more interested in mobile phone than customersI was told pick up 7 .15Several other customers we served well ahead of me my meals finally arrived 20/25 mins after stated timeMost of the items were tepid some were coldThe ribs were dry and overcooked, the sauce was cool but tastyThere seemed to be some disputes in the cooking area as l heard someone being shouted at to get out of the kitchenWe were disappointed both with service and foodIf l have the same experience on next visit then l'll be looking for another take away

Disappointed.The person who answered the phone had a stern attitude.The Udon noodles weren't very nice as the meal was bland, the noodles were very much like rubber and the meat tough. The Prawn toast was massively over cooked, the beef in mushrooms with chilli and garlic was poor and again the meat was tough.To be completely honest it felt as though the meals we ordered were prepared hours before and reheated.Very disappointing as we had been told that this was the best chinese in town. Always makes you wonder how the order can be ready in 10minutes?

Great food, quick service & reasonably priced what more can you ask for. We ordered on the phone, turned up at the time we'd ordered for & it was ready, both the lady who took the order & the one who served us were polite & friendly & the food was delicious & still hot when we got home, highly recommended

Me and a few friends are staying in the lakes for a few days (we are from the West Midlands) the home of the Takeaway! The Chinese chicken curry was lovely nice amount of spice (more flavour than spice), chicken crown mein noodles were fine and soft and tasty and chips were spot on , along with the rice and condiments/appetisers!

Great Chinese. Food was hot, fresh and tasty - best black bean sauce I've had from a takeaway. Less than half an hour wait time on a Saturday night and great socially distanced collection.

Staff were friendly and helpful, service was quick and the price was good, but other than the BBQ sauce which was delicious, I have to say I wasn't impressed by the food itself compared to our local at home. Chips were awful, rice was fine, noodles were the thin type which I'm not a fan of. Most of my food went in the bin sadly.
