The Wool Shack
The owner mentioned that I wasn't allowed to touch anything without buying it. This became stressful to me as I couldn't feel the texture of the wool before deciding. The experience made me a little uncomfortable as I could have bought online, but wanted to support local and feel the wool before purchasing.

The Wool Shack is my favourite place to buy yarn and accessories. Karen is always enthusiastic about my latest projects and comes up with lots of advice and yarn options. It’s great to meet someone who is genuinely interested in sharing her experiences. The choice of yarn is great with an amazing variety of colours. Today I made a repeat purchase of Aztec Aran yarn that Karen recommended a few weeks ago that knitted up beautifully.

Do not do exchanges even if it is only two hours and 10 minutes since bought.I popped in to wool shop today to get for an elderly lady that had recently had a fall two balls of wool at 11.50am, one ball was the incorrect shade of red there l popped back today at just after 2pm to exchange for correct shade of red. Owner of shop would not exchange saying that she did not do refunds. I just could not be bothered to dispute that it was not a refund but an exchange and bought the additional correct shade of red at £2.25.

The Wool Shack is an amazing, cosy shop full of a kaleidoscope of colourful yarns, a multitude of patterns and haberdashery to delight any knitter. Karen is just delightful, kind, knowledgeable and so helpful in every way. It is just a joy to visit the shopMary and Pat

Popped in on my day off yesterday. Was not made to feel particularly welcome or valued as a customer. Have purchased items from this shop several times, the average spend having been at least £25. As one other reviewer stated, I like to support small local businesses where I can. To be honest I did not find the proprietor very welcoming on any of these occasions. Yesterday I felt that I was intruding on her own personal space and time. I did not notice a sign up asking customers not to touch the merchandise. I applied gel regularly to my hands and wore a mask ( as a healthcare professional I take COVID very seriously). I accidentally knocked a ball of wool off the shelf midst turning round and was made to feel very uncomfortable in front of another customer who did NOT have a mask on and who was coughing without covering her mouth. Having over 30 years experience as a healthcare professional in retail, I know how important it is to make your customers feel welcome and valued. I felt neither yesterday (once again) so I will not be shopping there in future.

I was trying to learn to crochet using the internet, which worked to some degree but felt I needed some lessons as I was it quite getting it! Booked some lessons with Karen from the Wool Shack in Malvern Link. Karen is a great teacher - really clear and helpful. I learned lots and she went at my pace. She gave me some useful handouts and lots of tips. 10 months on I am crocheting quite complex things and am definitely addicted. The shop is fab with loads of gorgeous yarn and a warm welcome!

I've been to the Wool Shack 3 or 4 times and have always been really happy with the experience. I'm still quite new to knitting but have always felt encouraged and supported to do more. Good range of wools and great/helpful advice.
