Not a lot to like. From the chlorinated tap water in a fancy bottle to the poor excuse of a starter, and an abysmal rabbit pie. I really wanted to enjoy this but everything was a fail. Really poor.Unless you want to part with £20 + pounds for mediocre wine, beer choice was down to a piss poor lager bottle selection. Go somewhere else.Toilets are basic and staff were an assortment of teenage kids, admittedly trying their best.Would I go back. No way

Food was much better a couple of years ago when they had a decent team of chefs.Poor service from staff.

The food was reasonable and mostly well cooked although none of us received what we ordered from the menu. The steak with roast bone marrow came with chips instead (we only get bone marrow every 3 or 4 days - someone should have mentioned it")

Staff were lovely and very helpful, food was great. Upstairs room was fantastic for a private party. However, despite providing both high chairs and childrens menus, they don't have any changing facilities! I ended up changing my son on the toilet floor, which wasn't nice for either of us.Would be 5* if only they had a changing table.

They do a set menu which is cheaper than their main menu and it worth checking out.

Smart restaurant in centre of town. Food was very nice but portions very small. Main course and sides all priced separately so it became quite expensive.

The place was recommended by a local so we decided to try it out. It has a family run feel to it and I loved the placemats. They have photographs of staff along with a little description about that person. I had Mrs Macphersons card which said the she has been making egg custards for over 30 years! I ordered Sunday lunch with 3 meats and it came out well presented. There was a mound of meat and I actually struggled to eat it all. Absolutely lovely. The only downside was that I waited for 30 minutes and the place wasn't that busy. They also automatically added a 12.5% service charge which I thought was a bit presumptuous.

As I have spent a day in Oldfields kitchen, I can safely say that the food is not microwaved at all and is of good quality.
