when we went it early evening, with group of ladies, it was a typical geezers pub full of noisey blokes knocking it back and blocking the bar. Very good beer, service without finesse - g&t in a wine glass no ice nor lemon, JD&coke in a whiskey tumbler (no ice) . Atmosphere Ok but no place to impress a date LOL.

Recently taken over by Craft Union pubs and refurbished. Doesn't look a great deal different but a bit tidier and the toilets are much improved. Good quality Tv's for sport. More emphasis on keg beer. There is a jam session on Monday nights with free food which is a really good night.

Went in last night, karaoke was hilarious, especially Andrew who is a very strange chap, his actions remind me of Alvin Stardust.... But without the vocal range... Happy new year.

Had a wonderful evening here, staff are fast and lovely, people there were all friendly. What a great warm, inviting pub to spend an evening in.

Sunday is the best day to visit, the chef for breakfasts only works Sundays. 10 til 1 they are amazing. You might wait because it's so busy but for 3.50 it is amazing value and the best breakfast I've ever had!
