Abbie's Animal Behaviour & Training

As Jess (our black lab waggy tailed food monster) is our first dog we were pretty thorough in researching and choosing a trainer. Abbie stood out to us as someone who appeared to be both academic and practical in approach and after two training courses (puppy and adolescent) she’s proven to be everything we were looking for and so much more.During training sessions Abbie works with each dog and owner on a one-to-one basis resulting in a bespoke service in a group setting. Furthermore she’s always available on group chats to answer any queries after or before each session and is flexible in catering to everyone’s needs. Abbie’s sessions cover everything from settling in a pub to agility training and her hands on, modern approach is a godsend (dogsend?). She also provides academic though accessible session notes for those wanting to dive a bit deeper.She’s personable, friendly and easy going - and the dogs blooming adore her.Abbie’s really helped us to learn how to look after Jess and turn training into something fulfilling for both dog and owner. Her nuanced, considered advice (all of which is grounded in theory) and much required personalised pep talks (when things have got tricky as they inevitably do with a pup) have been utterly invaluable.As first time owners we can’t recommend her highly enough.

I have just completed the 6 week puppy training course designed by Abbie. It was delivered outside and one to one because of covid restrictions. I have a 4 month old sprocker puppy and although this is my fourth dog I have learned so much more about dog behaviour and psychology. Abbie is full of helpful advice and tips and has such a wonderful way with animals that my puppy just loved the classes and , most of the time, was responsive and eager to learn. It is hard work though, as Abbie makes sure that the human has lots of practice too-I always finished the sessions exhausted but full of ideas and techniques. A very helpful part of the course is the weekly feedback forms and lesson notes that Abbie sends after each class which helped to remind me of everything that had been covered in the session and gave me tailored tips on how to train my puppy. I would highly recommend Abbie and am looking forward to doing a further training/agility class with her later in the year. Thank you for a great course!

I have a very nervous rescue street dog which I bought back from Paraguay 6 years ago. I wish we had met Abbie 6 years ago! 1 lesson in and we are amazed by the progress we have already made under Abbie's expertise and instruction. We very much look forward to carrying on this canine adventure with her. We couldn't recommend her enough - especially for very challenging cases.

Abbie had an amazing approach with helping us with our dog's behaviour, he's so much better for all the training. And he has had a great time going on to do dog agility too. Can't recommend Abbie highly enough.

Abbie looked after our dog, Fargo, at our house for a couple of days during our wedding. Her communication was excellent; we received daily updates with photos of all of the walks she took him on. She even took him along to watch an agility competition! We had reservations of leaving Fargo with a stranger as he has shown some dog aggression and separation anxiety in the past but Abbie put our minds completely at ease and he warmed to her and her dogs straight away. Thank you so much Abbie!

Abbie is amazing! Only had a few sessions with my reactive rescue dog and his improvement is incredible, much more than I expected. I fully recommend her for any type of training and any breed of dog you have. She is patient kind and very very knowledgable and she has given me the tools myself to help my dog at home.

Abbie looked after our dog Monty during our wedding in July and was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We really cannot recommend her enough! Knowing Monty was in such good hands but being able to have him with us made our day all the more special. Thank you Abbie!!

Abbie has dog sat both our dogs twice now. The first occasion was a weekend but the second time was for a six week period. Abbie moved into our home both times as she is 100% reliable and trustworthy and the dogs were incredibly well looked after. We were kept updated by receiving photos of our dogs on their walks as well as in and around home. It was so comforting knowing our lovely pets were so well looked after, happy and settled. On arriving home we couldn’t tell that Abbie had been living in our home as she left it immaculately clean. We certainly recommend Abbie as a dog sitter.

I can't recommend Abbie highly enough. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and has so many useful strategies anyone can use to train your dog. Our dog had poor recall when other dogs were around, it took Abbie one session to teach us how to manage this and we have not had a problem since. Bravo Abbie!
