Having received no customer service from the nearby competition, I wandered into Denby just on the off chance that they sold knife blocks. A very helpful lady kindly assisted with my purchase and I ended up buying more than I intended. Procook, your loss!

Good bargains to be had here on a wide range of crockery, also cast iron denbyware at very good prices. Got one myself and it performs beautifully.

We visited Gloucester quays today to purchase a Denby Dinner service. Whilst in the shop we decided on the particular design we were interested in. We were aware that there was every possibility that some of the items were perhaps seconds and that there would be an obvious difference between each hand finished dinner plate we were looking at but the plates on the shelf were vastly different. The assistants were a few feet from us looking at stock, we asked one of them if they had set of eight plates that were more uniformed. The assistant picked up the plates went through them and said they all the same design, we indicated they weren't what we expected, he turned his back on us as he said in a condescending manner that's the way they're supposed to be" and then walked away from us. I couldn't believe how rude he was! We were looking to purchase an 8 piece set
