I had been on and off attempting to learn the guitar for years until I finally decided to do it properly with lessons.I've been having lessons from James for going on 2 years now and thoroughly enjoy them. He's patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, friendly, and makes the effort to tailor my learning to the style of music that inspires me.The lessons are structured, comfortable and motivational. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend James to anyone, regardless of experience.

James is a very talented teacher and musician, he has been teaching me for a few months now. My progression has come on leaps and bounds, he is very patient understanding and extremely professional. He makes you feel at ease whatever your level whether it be beginner or a bit more advanced. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I will learn so much more in the coming months and years ahead. Thank you so much for your support throughout my whole tuition.

Having started from scratch a few months ago I am really happy with my progress. James is warm, patient and always encouraging. As a complete beginner it’s easy for practise time to become tedious but James teaches familiar tunes to keep it enjoyable whilst subtly introducing a variety of techniques.I really enjoy my lessons and continue to be motivated to pick up my guitar in-between. I wish I’d gotten around to learning a lot sooner!

James has been teaching me for 18 months now and I am amazed how much he taught me, From never having picked up a guitar to now actually playing tracks.Besides being an excellent Guitarist, he is a natural, patient teacher adapting lessons to my musical tastes and skill level.James travels to my house each week for a lesson in the comfort of my own house which ensures lessons are relaxed and fun.If you’re thinking of learning to play, I would 100% recommend getting in touch! Thanks James!

James is an extremely talented guitarist and an amazing guitar teacher. He has been teaching my 10 year old Son to play his electric guitar for around 20 months now, he has made excellent progress and enjoys playing a wide variety of songs. His lessons are relaxed and enjoyable, offering lessons online throughout lockdown. James is very reliable and also flexible allowing us to reschedule lessons easily if needs be. I would highly recommend James to anyone wanting to learn to play guitar :)

James has been teaching my son guitar for almost 3 years now after my son initially started guitar lessons at school. The progress in comparison to the school lessons is vast, my son went from still playing single notes after 3 years tuition at school to basic tunes within a matter of a few months. James' communication is very good and his manner with my son is exemplary. He will point out how well my son is doing as well as tactfully make fair criticism when needed to encourage improvement and focus. James is always open to suggestions from my son about what direction he would like to go in his learning and considers what type of music my son wants to learn to or prefers play. Lessons have been able to continue during Covid online which has been great. Would definitely recommend James as a tutor to anybody.

James has been teaching me guitar for over a year now and it has been a very satisfying experience. I am a very mature student and was at the start almost a complete beginner. James is a very patient teacher and has designed our lessons around my interest in Blues music incorporating authentic blues arrangements along with some music theory and exercises to develop technique. I would certainly recommend him.

James has been teaching my 8 year granddaughter for over a year, she has made good progress in that time. James communicates very well with her and has built up a good trust basis and encouraged her to communicate her feelings about each lesson and ask questions.I would highly recommend James to anybody who would like their children to learn to play the guitar.

My guitar experience is about 20 years of faffing around and mostly not playing my guitar. And then I was introduced to James. It’s daunting having a teacher, but James is a relaxing person to learn from. He can teach in many ways: technique, strength, timing, theory - they all develop without you really noticing quite how. You follow genres that you like and are inspired by artists you’ve not come across, and James uses solos and songs to help you develop. We meet weekly. There is only so much you can do in the 30 minutes. But it’s the time between lessons where you’re cracking the next piece James has set or just simply motivated to play - that is how It all comes together. I’m making progress. Am I a good guitarist? - I’m definitely improving. Am I Enjoying it? - yes. Would I recommend James? - absolutely.
