We came to Tamasine for help with our Romanian rescue dog. Ziggy is a playful dog who is nervous around strangers and noise sensitive. When we adopted her she was sometimes too scared to leave the house.Ziggy has made great progress since working with Tamasine. What you get with Tamasine is not an attempt to tinker around with the behaviour issue. It’s about building a base (a bond and greater understanding of your dog) from which you can work on the issue but also apply these principles to so much more. The online sessions plus 2 follow-up face-to-face session model works really well and any queries we had between sessions were answered quickly and extensively. Ziggy has gained hugely in confidence and I think that’s largely because Tamasine has given us confidence. We would recommend Tamasine without hesitation. Thank you!

I was recommended Tamasine by a friend after my dog was diagnosed with severe anxiety. Its taken a lot of the training provided by Tamasine but I'm now finally getting my old Oscar back. I've gone from a dog was afraid to leave his safe space to a dog who is now happy to get on the sofa to cuddle and is happy relaxing. We still have a bit of work to do but thanks to Tamasine we're feeling so much happier and we're off to a fantastic start.

Being a new dog owner, is daunting, being a new dog owner to a five year old Romanian rescue with behaviour issues is even more daunting and also being a dad to two cats could've complicated things too. Esme my adopted dog has been badly mistreated in the past and as such is very reactive to humans and other animals. She and I fell in love the very first day but I knew I had take on her issues as well as her, and so I searched on line for a behaviourist in my area, and the reviews for lead changes convinced me that's who I needed, and so here we are a couple of weeks in and my dog is a very different dog, she still has a long way to go but thanks Tamasines patience, and kind natured way I have a dog who doesn't want to eat my cats or my neighbours children. Tamasine Smith is a very special person, she will explain processes, and the reasons our dogs do the things they do, it's been really encouraging to use WhatsApp as a way communicating our training between visits as Tamasine can review video footage and message back positive feedback. I have no problems recommending Tamasine and lead Changes as my life has been turned upside down with this adoption, but my dog had several homes prior to mine and families have given up on her, well I wasn't prepared to do that and Tamasine is very experienced with rescued dogs. I have a long term neurological illness which means no two days are the same, some things I find harder to do than others, Tamasine has easily adapted the human" training to fit around me

I am President of Axarquia Animal Rescue in Spain. Tamasine has supported and worked with us for a long time now , offering support to us and our fosterers and adopters. In Feb 2020, Tamasine donated her time (her travel costs were covered by a sponsor) and came and spent a week with me and my team visiting some of our adopted and foster dogs who needed behavioural support. It was a packed and hectic week. She was wonderful and has kept in contact with the adopters and fosterers since. Tamasine continues to provide advice and support on all our behavioural matters. I can't recommend her highly enough. Her experience and knowledge combined with her passion and love for what she does, and her love and respect for dogs, makes her very special.

We had a very human and dog reactive German Shepherd puppy due to not being able to socialise her well in lockdown. I put an add on bark looking for a dog trainer to help us and Tamasine replied and saved the day! We completed all the basics via video call which worked really well and had 2 in person sessions whilst socially distancing in my garden and on a puppy play field. Tamasine's instructions were very clear, and after every session follow up information such as notes and videos were sent to aid our training in between the live sessions. I am amazed by how far Storm has come in her confidence with people in particular and I now have the tools to help her improve even more around dogs and in new situations that she would have been very anxious about before. I highly recommend Tamasine if you have an anxious/reactive dog, well worth the time and money!

I cannot recommend Tamasine enough. She spent two days with my dogs.I have six. Although the original remit was to work with two of my dogs it turned out that the rest of the pack" needed some behaviour modification therapy too! The two that I had the problems with were amazing just after a few hours of Tamasine's teaching. She is so knowledgeable and imparts such confidence that I am highly motivated to carry on. I have already noticed a big difference in the dogs. She has introduced me to scent work which I had no idea was great for nervous dogs. I have looked for a long time for a properly qualified dog behaviourist who knows what they are doing. She is a thoroughly lovely person too and very patient with this old lady who has trouble remembering things! Don't go anywhere else!"

100% recommend! The home visit with the training exercise helped my Lola the podenco so much. She struggles with paying attention to me and getting worked up over dogs and small furries on walks. The exercises we were given have already improved her behaviour so much, and it's only been 4 days!I also received a hugely detailed and helpful personalised program via email with videos, links, and advice as well as a rundown of all our exercises.Tamasine is friendly, knowledgeable, and worked so well with my often nervous Lola! Can't wait to see more of Lola's improvements as we continue to follow the program. :)

Tamasine came out to us on Friday, she has given us so many training advice for our girl . She is full off enthusiasm and makes you feel really positive , very professional, friendly and she's just like having an old friend in the house. Would recommend her to anyone with dog problems.

I can’t put into words how much Tamasine has helped our little Golden Retriever puppy, Sophie, to have the best start in life. When we first got her, we were completely overwhelmed and struggling to get through each day (first time puppy owners!). Then Tamasine came into our lives and completely transformed our relationship with Sophie, helping us to lay the foundations for a well-mannered, four-legged family member.Her knowledge, dedication and attention to detail is simply incredible. It meant that we always stayed on the right path during the sessions and the fact that she actively encouraged us to send her videos of our progress outside of the sessions, to which she always responded and critiqued, is proof of how much Tamasine cares about Sophie’s development and that truly means the world to us! She even sent us a whole host of demonstration videos, too, meaning we could always practice and perfect each element of the training.During the sessions, Tamasine never rushes you or makes you feel inadequate. She explains things extremely clearly and ensures that each task is completed properly, both by us and our puppy. Tamasine has been an absolute god-send for my now 16wk old puppy and I. Sadly we are in lockdown so face to face sessions are off the table but thanks to video tech and WhatsApp conversations we have managed to create a fantastic and effective training schedule.When I got my lurcher pup Lilly I didn’t really appreciate how much training was required from day one. There are many things that blog posts and FB groups do not tell you as first time owner. Yes, there are plenty of enrichment ideas online but none of this explains that puppies have to learn ‘calm’ and patience as the ABC of their education. This lack of knowledge was a bit of a challenge for us which surfaced in many unsettled evenings when Lilly just didn’t understand that there was a time for play and that I wasn’t her toy on standby.Then I managed to get help from Tamasine. Tamasine’s training is highly dog-centric and ethical. She helped us lay the foundations that we had missing and gives us weekly exercises to practice in between sessions. The best thing is that Lilly really enjoys it - it’s fun but clear training for the dog! And it is incredible to see just how tired her little mind gets after our sessions. Lilly had become a much more patient and less frustrated little pup. She has really started to think about solutions and I am seeing a lot less of the ‘I want it and I want it now’ pup that I had a few weeks ago.I can highly recommend Tamasine - you will not find another dog trainer like her. In fact, Tamasine is probably the best top notch expert I could’ve found for us.
