Parked in August 2021 at Legburthwaite car park and walked up High Rigg as the first part of a round trip. Lovely walk with nice scenery. Then down to St John's in the Vale.

Did this as part of the St John's Vale Skyline walk. It was a lovely walk-up and down with some beautiful views! A clear, easy path to the summit.

High Rigg
Nice walk from Smaithwaite up onto High Rigg and some spectacular views considering its height. We got the 555 bus from Keswick so we could walk back to Keswick on the old railway walk but parking is also available for a circular walk back by 'St John's in the Vale'

Park at the United Utilities car park just north of Legburthwaite then take a walk up and over to High Rigg. Then down to St John's in the Vale and head back to the car park along the path on the eastern side. Drop in for a coffee at Low Bridge End Farm which is right next to the path.

Great little walk for those relatively new to the lakes/those who dont want a huge, difficult climb. Tea room in Legburthwaite around the side of High Rigg is well worth a visit.

Fabulous walk around High Rigg and Low Rigg, approximately 8 miles on good footpaths with fabulous views. Lovely garden cafe on the way back in the farm.

Parking available at St John's in the Vale for a few cars, but try not to park on Sundays when there is a service on. Road is very narrow, there is a gate to open half way along the road.Steady walk up for about 40 minutes as soon as you pass the youth centre, some good views of Thirlmere and over towards Keswick.

High Rigg
A good walk with excellent views. About 6 miles to walk from one end of the ridge to the other and come back on the path on the east side down by the river. Quite easy going with good paths even after heavy rain and flooding. Good for exploring and scrambling and quite difficult to get lost.

Unspoilt, magical, perfect.Take someone you love with you, sit a while have a cup of tea. Take in the view and the peacefulness.I could spend a lifetime up there, if I could.
