I got a recommendation from a friend to try this small cafe / tea room and I was not disappointed.Its a cosy little place set on the Wansbeck riverside just outside Ashington and it serves a good selection of reasonably priced snack food and delicious cakes.Access is via a ramp at one end and stairs at the other, there is both indoor and outdoor seating, toilets (including disabled) are clean and dogs are welcome.Just outside the cafe is ample parking with a picnic tables, a nice childrens playpark and for the more energetic a lovely riveride walk.Food was very good quality, very tasty and good portions (especially the cake!!)A great base for an afternoon out with the kids, give it a try.
