Finally this important historical site reinstalled with an appropriate replica pump approximately in its original site. The temporary pink curb-stone marker incorporated into the new monument together with a brief officially interpreted narrative plaque.Ironically nowadays a noxious and toxic miasma very much a permeating reality in the streets of London.

Must visit if you’re into obscure history, I guess. I found a book in a bargain bin titled Ghost Maps and it explains the cholera outbreak of 1854. It was such an interesting read and when we went on holiday to London I just had to visit.

Here is where Dr. John Snow discovered that the contaminated water has caused the Cholera Breakout in 1854 which claimed the lives of over 500 people in Soho/ London.

Lugar donde se encuentra la réplica de la bomba de agua que Snow cerró en el siglo XIX para demostrar que el agua contaminada trasmitía el cólera.

A very important historical site that many tourists don’t acknowledge! The creator of modern epidemiology - John Snow and the infamous water pump which started the cholera outbreak! If you are passing by SOHO - just take a few minutes for this site.

A must go sightseeing for epidemiologists and health geographers. John Snow is the father of modern epidemiology.
