Visited on the off chance whilst on holiday and what a fabulous find! Service was amazing, young lad was super efficient and helpful. Food was superb! I had the steak and ale pie, my husband had the Blue Anchor burger. The pie was delicious, plenty of gravy, smooth creamy mash and lovely sweet carrots. Husband says burger was delicious with home made chips. Great location, food and service, what more could you want. Also dog friendly!

Great pub meal, great price, lovely location, a local recommended us to have a meal here and we weren't disappointed, this is definitely a don't judge a book by it's cover pub, through the sliding door, down the steps in to a lovely old pub.

We've been to minehead a few times now, eaten at multiple different places and every single time this place comes out on top without competition. Having read the negative reviews you have to wonder where these people eat out normally ? If your eating at Michelin star restaurants then this may not be quite up to your standards but otherwise this is the best place to eat within atleast an hours drive. The staff are incredibly nice and always more than happy to do anything they can. The price is absolutely spot on for anywhere around here. For example our meal was actually cheaper hear than it was at the brewers fare the night before. The food is absolutely delicious with perfect portions. You come away happy and full every time. Sure the outside could do with a lick of paint but if you let that stop you from eating here then your missing out big time. Make this place a must eat when your hear.

Location is good. Service is polite but very slow, probably due to understaffing. Barking dogs are permitted in the restaurant, not just the bar, which is highly problematic.Food was mediocre at best, and poor value. Portions are modest, so be sure to order sides. My Mexican burger was ludicrously small, topped with allegedly sriracha pulled pork, which was dry like shredded hardboard in both taste and texture. The saving grace was the chunky chips. Overall, not reccommended.

Worst meal iv had in a long time!!!Ordered burger & chips thinking it was a safe option. Chips were too greasy and the burger average at best. As for the pub / restaurant it is very dated and most of the chairs were broken with springs visible.Lovely waiting staff doh

We had Pork T bone which was enormous and Gammon. The meals were well cooked and reasonably priced as we're the drinks. It was Saturday night so was quite busy but the service was very polite and attentive.

Nice food, my batter on fish and chips was a little burnt underneath and was extremely understaffed. They had a young girl running around taking orders, greeting customers, seating customers, delivering food and table service.A second person appeared out of the toilets after about 20 minutes but then disappeared into the other area and was not seen again.Food was nice though but you definitely need to book as the place was packed.Note to owners if they read, not sure if you had a staffing issue but the one young girl (who was exemplary) was not enough.

Visited here with a large group of people 2 weeks ago! Server very young.... They were only serving roasts and the server didn't know what beers were available shocking from star to finish! Roast dinner was poor a cross the board roast potatoes were rock hard and the Yorkshire pudding tasted off! Server got a couple of drinks wrong to! Won't be visiting again!
