Very successful knee replacement carried out at Fulwood Hall Hospital. No adverse reports to make. Very happy with all aspects of the treatment and care.

Mr McLauchlan explained the procedure clearly and informed me of factors that might affect the total success of the operation. He listened to my questions and answered fully any concerns I had.After the operation, which in my case, was successful, I attended further appointments for check ups and was given the opportunity to ask any other queries regarding recovery time etc.I found Mr McLauchlans manner to be friendly but professional and he managed to put me at ease for something I wasn't looking forward to.I would recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

I recently underwent a total knee replacement with Mr McLauchlan performing the surgery. The whole experience was positive. I received comprehensive information in respect of what was involved with the surgery and how to manage post surgery expectations. 12 months down the line I am totally pain free and am able to enjoy walking and exercising as I wish.

Had my right hip replaced after many years of severe pain. I was fortunate enough to be added to Mr McLauchlan's list and met with him a number of times pre op at Fulwood Hall. Mr McLauchlan was clear with the root cause of the problem and the required procedure to correct it. I attended Fulwood Hall and had the operation on a Friday and returned home on the Sunday. Quite simply put, its the best thing I have had done. I followed physio instructions, walked, exercised and after 1 month was back walking a few miles a day, after 4 months, was back skiing and after 10 months back climbing the odd mountain. I visited Mr McLauchlan once for >3 month and again >12 months which included an x-ray. All good and I am now planning on doing the 4 peaks once more in the next 12 months. As far as Mr McLauchlan, I found him honest, clear and very transparent re success rates to re-assure me and what I'd be able to do post op (and what I needed to do in prep for pre-op!). From my personal experience, I lost 2 stone in weight pre op, the fitter you are pre-op the operation is easier and the recovery has a higher rate of success. I'd have absolutely no concerns if I had to go under the knife again under Mr McLauchlan's expertise...THANK YOU!

Mr McLoughlin performed a replacement knee for me and within a few weeks I had no pain in the joint for the first time in over 24 years and I was able to walk normally without any walking aids. He also went the extra mile for me when I developed atrial fibrillation at the end of the operation and was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. He came to the hospital twice to ensure I had sufficient pain relief and check on my progress. He reassured me when he visited the ward that he was being kept up to date on my progress and I would be brought back to Fulwood Hall as soon as I was made an outpatient. He explained that I was in a medical ward but was a surgical patient and the nursing staff had not the expertise or equipment to deal with my case.I also found he made time at the follow up appointment to enquire about my heart condition and also to explain questions I raised. I cannot praise his work enough, most of the time now I forget I have had the operation as the operated knee behaves the same as my other one.

I had Full Hip Replacement Surgery last year performed by Mr Mclauchlan at Fulwood Hall Hospital and can on describe my experience as Brilliant!!I was treated with the upmost respect,I had never had surgery before, so was a little nervous, All staff made me feel at ease,No complications so was In and out in within 36 hours,Without crutches after 10 DaysAfter Care was excellent.Would Definitely Recommend to anyone who has demised mobility and are lucky to be in a position to choose not wait in pain for this treatment …From a very grateful now pain free!Mr Stephen Wilkinson

Mr McLauchlan has performed hip resurfacing procedures on both of my hips, one in 2004 and one last Christmas and I cannot praise him enough. He has a calm, reassuring manner, and manages to combine that with a friendliness that not all medical professionals are able to display. His expertise as a surgeon is quite simply second to none, on both occasions I made a swift and full recovery, and on the second occasion I was off crutches inside a week and I was riding round on my bike inside a month. Contrast that with the months leading up to my surgery when I could barely get upstairs. Special mention also has to go to his ever-efficient and really friendly PA, Val, who guided me through the pre-op process and really made me feel that I was the only patient on her desk. Thanks to both, and if you are reading this and are looking for a surgeon then look no further.

George McLauchlan performed a total knee replacement on my right knee in November 2021. He was polite, helpful and made sure I knew exactly what to expect and left me feeling confident that all was going to be fine (obviously it's a stressful time going into major joint surgery). The operation was a complete success and after a period of several weeks rehabilitation including physiotherapy my new knee was completely pain free and remains so to this day.Unfortunately my other knee started to cause me pain and I have surgery planned for a total knee replacement on this other knee in just over a week's time. I had absolutely no hesitation in deciding that I wanted Mr. McLauchlan to perform this operation as I have complete confidence in his ability and admire his attitude to his patients.

I had my second knee replacement in May 2021 at Fulwood Hall hospital. I was kept informed of all stages of the procedure and received good care while in hospital and when leaving. You have to be prepared to follow all the exercise routines and to attend physio appointments. The end results are well worth it, able to walk pain free and I go spinning 7 days a week for exercise, now discharged. Age 72

I have had both knees and one hip replaced by Mr McLauchlan with very pleasing results and very little post operative pain. A lovely, very approachable man, I would not hesitate to consult him again should the need arise.
