The Denim Doctor

This is my 2nd review 08/23 , having just used the Denim Dr again, this time to conceal a deliberate but unwanted rip in the thigh of some otherwise perfect jeans. Michael did a fused repair which is pretty much invisible and has massively smartened up the jeans and made them more versatile. The quality of work is impeccable and Michael’s knowledge of all things denim is second to none. You can tell he has a tailoring background and takes great pride in his work, yet amazingly he charges no more than a high street chop and hack shop. The rest is my previous review from May 2022 - I was really excited to discover the Denim Doctor as it’s so hard to find jeans that fit me well, and when I do find that special pair, I want them to keep going for ever. This time I just had the legs shortened and what an amazing job - the jeans look exactly the same, just shorter. That sounds easy but bad past experiences with other alteration services have proved this isn’t as straightforward as it might seem. I used the postal service but it was great to be able to talk details with Michael in advance, and with his tailoring background, I knew his work was going to be of the highest quality, which it was. His prices and speed of work are very reasonable and I will definitely use him again.

Excellent work on a pair of Levi jeans. Was considering buying new ones but for £20 they've been repaired and are like new again. Very happy with the quality of the repair. Will be coming back here should I need further alterations.

I needed some expensive jeans shortening and I wanted to keep the original factory finish on the hems. Michael managed to do this with his ‘vintage’ finish. Very happy with the outcome! Highly recommend, excellent result and I’m very happy with the outcome.

I had 2 pairs of rare 1950's vintage Levis jeans, I wanted them very sensitively repaired and I was so nervous about who would repair them they sat here for quite a long time. I then came across the The Denim Doctor on Instagram and as I had reason to visit Manchester one weekend so I thought I would take the jeans and discuss the repairs with them. I have to say Michael give me confidence straight away that they were the guys for the job. He was so friendly and enthusiastic and explained exactly how they would do the job. With their strong background in Tailoring they are not just a normal garment repair shop. I just received the Jeans back yesterday and I have to say I am so happy with the result. The repairs have been very sensitively carried out, they used threads matching the shade of the denim depending on how much the denim had faded in certain parts of the Jeans. The repairs are pretty much invisible. Great Job! Would definitely use them again, no question about it. Highly recommend The Denim Doctor.

I needed a repair on my denin jeans and found the Denim Doctor after a google search. I sent my jeans through the post and paid the excellent price for the repair job(see pics before and after).His skill is amazing the reapir on my jeans are so well done that they look brand new! Called in unannounced with a pair of jeans hoping to have them shortened. Staff member I spoke to was very welcoming and helpful. Received my jeans by post about 10 days later - really neat job with accurate colour matching to the original stitching. Will definitely use again when something needs doing! Excellent *****

Just received three pairs of Edwin jeans, all beautifully repaired by the genius that is the Denim Doctor (two pairs had holes invisibly repaired and the third pair were taken up and chain-stitched to match the original finish).I have been entrusting my selvedge denim to Michael at the Denim Doctor for many years now, the work they do is incredible. Love this place. I was dubious at first that my favourite pair of jeans which had developed a rather large hole where one was not wanted, were repairable. The resulting work together with strengthening of the seat was literally invisible and so expertly done . There is a lot of life left in this pair now. Thank you again DD for your great service. Will definitely use again.

Wow denim doctor is truly miraculous! He has somehow managed to save my absolute favourite pair of jeans from certain death, hurrah! Highly recommended!
