A one off experience - abseiling down the cliff to the ledge, eating dinner whilst looking out at the ocean, playing cards, watching boats pass by, before climbing back up. Eddy is a genuinely nice guy with so much experience and is really encouraging if you’re having a ‘wobble’

Just had 2 great days climbing with Eddy. My daughter and I had previously done some top roping on indoor walls but wanted to become independent on rock. After carrying out a skills assessment, Eddy introduced us to some new equipment and showed us how to set up safe top rope anchor points. We then moved on to abseiling and belaying from the top of a cliff. On the second day we progressed onto lead climbing culminating in setting up and carrying out a lead climb independent of hands-on guidance. Eddy helped us achieve our objective and we now have the confidence and know-how to go climbing on our own. Throughout the 2 days Eddy provided a programme that introduced new skills and built them into the next activity. A very enjoyable 2 days, Eddy is a great teacher, and will I use Eddy for any further climbing instruction we need in the future.

I actually received this course as a gift and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. The course was incredibly well-organised and Eddy was great company to spend the day with. It was an excellent introduction to outdoor climbing and the necessary rope work. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, especially those looking to transition from indoor to outdoor climbing.

Stop thinking about it, just go ahead and book now! Three of us spent a fantastic weekend with Eddy down at Portland, learning the basics of belaying all the way through to our first steps into lead climbing. Eddy is an excellent instructor, truly passionate about climbing and all round great guy.

Can't think of a better way to get the proper introduction on climbing outdoors and top roping. Awesome location and Eddy was amazingly helpful. Looking forward to using my new skills and look forward to booking another course in the future to learn even more!

Highly recommended. Eddy took a group of 3 of us rock climbing for our first time in Dorset. Clearly he is a very experienced and high level instructor capable of teaching light years ahead or our abilities. We all felt like Eddy was a great instructor, very genuine with his support and encouragement without being too pushy. He picked some routes which were challenging for us but achievable. He encouraged us to take responsibility for our safety but was always attentive and quick to spot and correct us if we missed something. We all had an amazing and fund day. If you're thinking of booking with Young's Adventure Solutions for a great climbing experience just do it!

I just want to say wow! What an experience. We were a group of two, and had a day’s session with Eddy at the Dancing Ledge. We were complete beginners and I can’t thank Eddy enough for sharing his knowledge with us. His experience speaks through his teaching style, and his passion for climbing is unreal. We learned everything we needed to be able to go and start abseiling indoors, and this amazing rock climbing experience was a real eye opener to how amazing outdoor climbing is. I would absolutely recommend Eddy, as he’s an amazing teacher and you would be lucky if you get to learn from him. Definitely looking forward to having another course with Eddy in future. Thank you!
