I have used Simon over the last few weeks to set up all the guitars in my stable. I'm somewhat of an novice player so I wasn't aware of how transformative a set up can be. My guitars now are fantastic and I'm playing more often than ever before. Simon is friendly, professional and trustworthy providing a high class service. Simon has done full set ups on 2 of my guitars, a stat & an Epiphone 339 pro & is a really great craftsman I cannot recommend him enough. The guitars were in beautiful & polished condition with new strings and to my playing requirements when I collected them. I have just bought a new Yamaha V112 MX & will be taking it to him for a full set up in the next couple of weeks. I will not use anyone else, that is how highly I respect his work and he is a true gentleman.

Simon done 1st class work on my Super 400c 1968, he gave my guitar a complete re fret and I am very pleased with the workmanship. Thanks Simon! My first setup for my tele and I am so pleased with the work simon has carried out.My guitar wasn’t in bad shape so was slightly hesitant to get a full setup but I am so glad I did.The fret work and intonation are absolutely spot on and I haven’t been able to put the guitar down since I got it back.Everything just feels so smooth!If you are looking for a setup/repair Simon will be your guy.

Over the years I’ve entrusted various guitars to various Luthiers. Prior to meeting Simon I had had a very stressful experience with another guy who had made a very bad job of my Martin HD28, rendering it unplayable. I was so upset.I found Simon’s website and liked the tone and professional reassurance. So I arranged to meet, and he assessed the guitar. He asked me about me playing style, and what I would like to achieve. He made some measurements and recommendations, and we agreed what was needed. A week later I took it in for repair/setup, and it was done in a day. Incredible! I’ve never known a service as good as this.OK, so I’m probably a bit emotional about my much loved 18 year old wedding present, and I was heartbroken when I couldn’t play it. I was really under a cloud. Now, the Martin is better than it’s ever been! I can’t recommend Simon enough. The guitar has always been magnificent of course, with legendary tone and power, but now Simon has made it SO playable I can go all evening, whereas before I would usually pick up an “easier” guitar if I was in for a session. Beautiful attention to detail, great work, great prices and a great guy!I had two guitars serviced and set up by Simon a few weeks ago, a limited edition 50s hot-rodded telecaster and a Les Paul 68 custom shop historic reissue. For more than 10 years I did all my own little set up alterations because I couldn’t find anyone I trusted with them.After Simon worked on the frets, the electrics, the setup, changed the nut on the Les Paul (basically everything on both) they’re both back to singing and so easy and fun to play. The tele is better than it was out of the factory with what I thought was a good setup from the shop. And the Les Paul has the great tone, clear and growly, that it once had.Simon has breathed life back into my guitars and they are better than ever – Thank you Simon!If you’re in the South of England and looking for a luthier that is great at his job Simons you man and he’s a great guy so it feels even better when you leave a guitar with him!

First class work from a real professional. My guitars have never played better since using Simon to set them up.His re-frets are just fabulous!

Simon recently set up my new Fraser guitars T type and installed some new saddles. It plays and feels much better now. It has a really silky feel and I swear sounds better!! Highly recommended.Thanks Simon.

I bought a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster new, and although they are very well built, and supreme value for money, it was clear that it would benefit from a proper set-up. Luckily, Simon is quite local to me, so it made sense to use him. He did a really good job, and the guitar plays like a dream, just the way you would want a guitar to feel if you had spent a lot of money on it. I can recommend Simon without any hesitation.
